Welcome to our in depth coverage of the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game. We will presenting previews of all the positions through out the week. This sixth preview will look in depth of all the athletes in this year’s game.
#2 Dontre Wilson | DeSoto HS | DeSoto, TX | 5’10, 174 | Oregon
One of the elite rushers in the country, Wilson received numerous offers for his services including home state schools Texas, Texas A&M and Baylor. However, Wilson decided back in October 2012 that he would take his services to the West Coast to the Oregon Ducks. Wilson stands out with his excellent ball skills, speed and the fact he can make plays when you need him to. Wilson is ranked #52 overall on the ESPN 150 player rankings and is the 5th best overall athlete in the nation according to ESPN. Wilson has participated as an athlete in both the Gridiron Kings and The Opening events.
#3 Alvin Bailey | Armwood HS | Seffner, FL | 5’11, 175 | Florida
Despite the turmoil that was cast over the Armwood program in early 2012, Bailey manage to keep on producing and allow himself to produce on the field in both the quarterback and wide receiver positions. It is something that he has been use to the last couple of seasons that included leading Armwood to the 2011 FHSAA Class 6A State Final. Bailey is rated #71 overall on the ESPN 150 player rankings and the 7th best overall athlete in the nation according to ESPN. Things that make Bailey the player he is? Count his speed, ball skills and versatility that allows him to make plays that opposing defenses cannot see coming. Bailey has been a past selection to Gridiron Kings and The Opening events.
#10 Tarean Folston | Cocoa HS | Cocoa, FL | 5’9, 190 | Undeclared
Folston has been an explosive force in the backfield for the Cocoa Tigers the past several years. Cocoa has gone at least to the State Semifinals in the FHSAA Class 4A playoffs, that also included three trips to the state finals between 2008 and 2010. It has been revealed that Folston will be committing during the game and has Florida State, Notre Dame and Oregon as his leaders. Folston is ranked #79 overall on the ESPN 150 player rankings and is consider the 9th best overall athlete in the nation according to ESPN. Folston will show why he will be great no matter where he lands at with his speed and versatility.
Max Redfield, #1 | Mission Viejo HS | Mission Viejo, CA | 6’2, 181 | Undeclared
The 36th ranked ESPN 150 recruit has plenty of schools to choose from coming into the 2013 Under Armour All-America game. Redfield has shown interest in Notre Dame and USC. Listed as an athlete for the game, Redfield provides versatility, speed and amazing ball skills.
Jalin Marshall, #7 | Middletown HS | Middletown, OH | 5’11, 196 | Ohio State
Committed to Ohio State in January 2012, Jalin Marshall provides tons of versatility and playmaking skills. Although he was a quarterback at Middletown High School, his future head coach at Ohio State, Urban Meyer, “sees Marshall as a playmaking hybrid back who would fit nicely in the Buckeyes’ spread offense”, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Kendell Beckwith, #11 | East Feliciana HS | Jackson, LA | 6’3, 225 | Undecided
ESPN’s top ranked ATH in the state of Louisiana comes into the 2013 Under Armour game undecided on a school. The 6’3 ATH played quarterback and linebacker in high school. Beckwith, the 19th ranked recruit on the ESPN 150, is being recruited as a LB by multiple SEC schools, with most of his interest coming from LSU and Alabama.
Tramel Terry, #11 | Goose Creek HS | Goose Creek, SC | 5’11, 193 | Georgia
The Georgia Bulldog commit will not be participating in this years 2013 Under Armour All-America game after suffering a left knee injury in The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas shortly before halftime. Terry, ranked as the top rated athlete in South Carolina and 55th on the ESPN 150, was the star player on Goose Creek High, the South Carolina team who was undefeated and state ranked before being disqualified from playoff contention after an ineligible player.
