DISTRICT 4A-1
In The Driver’s Seat: Florida High, 1-0; East Gadsden, 1-0
Still Alive: Walton, 0-1; Marianna, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: Florida High and East Gadsden are both in control of the district, but Florida High won big in Week 6 against Walton, while East Gadsden squeaked by Marianna. Overall this district with the way the Week 6 outcomes have looked anything could happen meaning we could end up garbage canning the preseason projections.

DISTRICT 4A-2
In The Driver’s Seat: Fort White, 1-0; Taylor County, 1-0
Still Alive: Fernandina Beach, 0-1; Madison County, 1-0
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: We surely thought Madison County would slip just a bit, but still be fine on their winning ways this season, but that has gone every direction, but we thought. However, they have had some tough games, but the one game that appears to be the blunder is against Taylor County and this could be the game that puts Madison County out of the playoffs. Fort White is looking solid and could be the team to take the district this season, while Taylor County’s win over Madison County has given them a chance to possibly be in the playoffs as well.

DISTRICT 4A-3
In The Driver’s Seat: Raines, 2-0; West Nassau, 2-0
Still Alive: Bolles, 0-1; Andrew Jackson, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Baldwin, 0-2
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: They say you are suppose to win the games that matter the most and well Raines and West Nassau have done just that so far in district play. For Raines, they are looking more like each week like a state title contender and it is very possible the loss to Miami Northwestern was a learning experience that has helped improve Raines greatly. It is hard to say Bolles is still in the playoff hunt and not in the driver’s seat, but at this rate anything could happen and if West Nassau beats Bolles, it could mean some history shattering things we won’t talk about just yet.

DISTRICT 4A-4
In The Driver’s Seat: Bradford, 2-0, Keystone Heights, 1-0
Still Alive: The Villages, 1-1, Interlachen, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Umatilla, 0-2
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: This district is turning out the way we thought it would based upon our preseason projections, however The Villages are a much improved team so they could challenge Keystone Heights for playoff spots since The Buffaloes have already lost to Keystone Heights, or more remotely play to have a tiebreaker happen overall. Bradford which had a shaky start to the season appears to be on track of keeping the top of the district locked up, but a close squeak by Interlachen has raised some eyebrows. Umatilla will need a lot of help at this point to getting a tiebreaker to make the playoffs.

DISTRICT 4A-5
In The Driver’s Seat: Space Coast, 2-0; Cocoa, 1-0, Atlantic, 1-0
Still Alive: None
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Cocoa Beach, 0-2; Jones 0-2
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: Two words: UPSIDE DOWN! That is the way the district has gone so far outside of Cocoa. We still expect Cocoa to win, but our thoughts of Cocoa Beach finally making the playoffs in a longtime hit the garbage can after two district losses to Space Coast and Cocoa. Jones really off compared to years past and we don’t give them much chance to win a district game at all this season, but the same could be said for Cocoa Beach as well. I think the overall shockers here are Space Coast on top of the district with a 2-0 record and Atlantic saying not so fast to writing us off with a 1-0 district record.

DISTRICT 4A-6
In The Driver’s Seat: Clewiston 1-0, LaBelle, 1-0
Still Alive: Lake Placid, 0-1; Avon Park, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: Seriously we thought Clewiston would need a year to rebound and get use to the new system under Pete Walker. Well we were wrong on that thought because Clewiston looks to be headed towards winning the district this year, while an inconsistent LaBelle has made a statement that it wants to be playoff bound as well no matter what it takes to get there. However, we cannot count out Lake Placid and Avon Park just yet in the process of everything.

DISTRICT 4A-7
In The Driver’s Seat: University School, 2-0; Glades Central, 1-0
Still Alive: North Broward Prep, 1-0
Still Alive, But Needs Help: Somerset Academy, 0-2
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: University School is looking great week and week out so it is no surprise that our projection is pretty much been spot on as to who the possible district champion and runner-up could be which some of that will be settled as of next week. However, what is surprising us some is North Broward Prep not winning games to date, while Somerset Academy has, but neither are totally out of the playoff race right now.

DISTRICT 4A-8
In The Driver’s Seat: Booker T. Washington, 1-0; Gulliver Prep 1-0
Still Alive: Miami Edison, 0-1; Monsignor Pace, 0-1
Still Alive, But Needs Help: None
Eliminated: None

Quick Analysis: Things are going pretty much the way we thought they would shake out and being a team inside the same district with the National No. 1 is going to provide a tough challenge. We still expect Booker T. Washington and Gulliver Prep to emerge out of this district as the playoff representatives, but in technical terms no one is out of the race right now.
