Comment: Joey Goegel’s 19-yard field goal with eight seconds left lifted Marist past Godby 17-14 in the opening game of the Battle of the Borders quadruple header at Halford Stadium. Godby quarterback Darius Bradwell two touchdown runs tied the game twice

2. Lincoln

Comment: A week after opening the season with a 49-27 loss at Camden County, Lincoln held off visiting Pensacola 31-27 in the home opener. With 4:19 left in the game and trailing 27-24, junior tailback Ricky Henrilus broke off a 37-yard touchdown run to put the Trojans ahead for good.

3. Port St. Joe

Comment: Jarkeice Davis rushed for 248 yards and all six touchdowns on 14 carries helping Port St Joe rout arch-rival Wewahitchka 41-7 for the eleventh straight time.

Comment: Wakulla opened the season crushing previously No. 4 Florida High 40-12. Eagles took advantage of four turnovers to handle the Seminoles for the second straight year.

Comment: Korey Charles rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries to lead NFC to a 24-13 win over Deerfield Windsor. The Eagles defense did their part too blocking a punt for a score and picking off a Windsor pass..

Comment: For the second straight year, Liberty County had no problem with Maclay, easily knocking off Maclay 42-3 Friday night.
