Don’t get upset if your team is not ranked by the computer to start the 2016 season.
With that said, only two Florida teams found their way inside USA TODAY’s Super 25 preseason computer rankings, provided by rankings guru, Ken Massey, which were released yesterday.
Independent powerhouse, IMG Academy, came in ranked No. 14 on the computer rankings and will have a very tough schedule ahead of them that includes more road trips than home games and will play games against a few in-state teams including defending Class 3A state champion Jacksonville Trinity Christian and Chaminade-Madonna.
The Ascenders will host Miami Carol City next Saturday, August 20, for the preseason classic at IMG Academy Field in Bradenton.
The only other team to come in ranked is Miami Central, which came in at No. 25.
The Rockets will only play an eight-game regular season schedule which some have considered slightly weaker than the past few seasons. They will host Royal Palm Beach next week in a preseason classic at Milander Park in Hialeah.
The No. 1 overall team to start the season ranked on the computer rankings is St. John Bosco out of California.
