Class 2A playoff watch for Week 8

It is hard to believe it is already Week 8 already and that means the district races will start to sort themselves out of who is a contender and who is really a pretender. However, for some teams, they can punch their tickets to the playoffs this week. Take a look to see who can do what in Class 2A this week with the Week 8 playoff scenarios.

FAMU, 0-0

Skinny
Both teams already have automatic playoff berths, which will be the last year of this issue when the new playoff format comes online and districts are abolished in the lower classes. Very much possible that FAMU ends up in the playoffs as a winless team.

Things are shaping up so far like we thought they would since the start of the season, however Harvest Community and Cedar Creek are likely to battle it out for the runner-up spot which wouldn’t be decided until Week 10. University Christian is already guaranteed a spot in a potential district tiebreaker at this point.

The district has been shaping up the way we thought so far with Warner Christian and Trinity Christian right in the mix for the two playoff spots in the district. Warner Christian so far is guaranteed at least a spot in a potential district tiebreaker.

Skinny
No surprise that Victory Christian has made a comeback this year and could be the team that takes district crown. We projected them to finish second to Foundation Academy, but at this point things are looking to be flipped here.

The leader of the district is who we thought it would be, but Seffner Christian has turned some heads already this season and is guaranteed at least a spot in a district tiebreaker. Cambridge and Carollwood will not play each other until Week 10 to settle the playoff spots for this district

Pretty much a logjam at the top for the two playoff berths from this district, but so far we are not surprised that First Baptist is on top. However, St. John Neumann being in the playoff mix after a rough season last year is a big head turner here.
