GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The FHSAA’s officials training scrimmages will take place this weekend on Friday and Saturday (August 10-11) at 17 schools sites across the state involving 13 officials associations and 100-plus teams to help officials improve on consistency with officiating for the 2018 football season.
The goal of the FHSAA officials training scrimmages is aimed at training officials with four goals for the season:
- Common football officiating curriculum provided by FHSAA and taught by our top officials with the goal of statewide consistency.
- Coaches and Officials question and answer session to bridge the gap between the two groups.
- Train all officials with instant on-field feedback.
- Encourage Associations to use the training to help develop playoff crews.
The FHSAA anticipates more than 1,000 officials will participate in the statewide training this weekend.
Listed below are the school sites with the participating schools listed along with the officials association that will be involved in the training at that site. Days are subject to change. Contact school site for exact times.
