GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nine weeks are in the books for the 2019 Florida high school football season and the FHSAA has given us another round of updated RPI rankings meaning we are another week closer to the playoffs.
As such this update provides the entire state a glimpse of what the potential playoff matchups could be looking like in early November, but remember things change, even with four weeks to go.
In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.
For Class 1A, you will find a breakdown of RPI rankings for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.
NOTE: No teams in Classes 1A-4A can officially clinch a playoff spot until the final playoff brackets are revealed on Sunday, November 3.

PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
No. 1 Baker – BYE
No. 5 Jay at No. 4 Freeport
No. 6 Graceville at No. 3 Northview

QUICK THOUGHTS: Baker still holds on to the top seed in the region, but there are changes among the rest of the pecking order as Vernon moves up from No. 4 to No. 2 while Northview and Freeport move back to the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. Jay and Graceville trade spots at the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds. I feel like the teams you are seeing here now will be the ones representing this region in the playoffs.

QUICK THOUGHTS: Once again there are no changes to the order of the teams in this region despite Jefferson County losing another game and Sneads dropping their first game this season. However, looking at the next two weeks to close out the regular season, I feel there is a chance for Wewahitchka to gain ground to jump Jefferson County and reach the playoffs.

No. 5 Hilliard at No. 4 Branford
No. 6 Fort White at No. 3 Dixie County
No. 2 Lafayette – BYE
QUICK THOUGHTS: Some big changes are in play here in this region with Lafayette moving up to the No. 2 seed while Dixie County falls back to the No. 3 seed. Branford and Hilliard change seeds at No. 4 and No. 5 while Union County falls out of the No. 6 with Fort White having a big win on Friday to take the No. 6 seed currently. I feel like at this point the region is currently still in play from Seeds No. 4 to No. 6 as anything can happen in the next two weeks that could derail playoff hopes for any team.

QUICK THOUGHTS: The Top four in the region remain unchanged while Chiefland, picking up their fifth win of the season has moved up to the No. 5 seed, while Crescent City falls out of being the No. 5 seed with Pahokee moving into the No. 6 seed currently. I feel like right this second there is still a lot in play for this region and things will change especially regarding seeds No. 4 through No. 6.
