Rankings are based on the Florida Power Rankings Index's two-year historical blend of 2024 and 2025 performance.

Wildwood (#1, 85.02) stands alone at the top as one of the state's elite Class 1A programs. Bradford (#2, 64.16) provides strong support as the region's second-ranked program, but there's a significant gap between Wildwood and the rest of the field.

Classification Breakdown:

Class 4A : 2 teams (Forest leads at #8 overall)

Class 3A : 2 teams (Belleview leads at #3 overall)

Class 2A : 6 teams (Dunnellon leads at #11 overall)

Class 1A : 12 teams (Wildwood leads at #1 overall)

Competitive Balance:

North Central Florida features a clear top tier with Wildwood, Bradford, and Belleview rated above 60.0. The region drops off significantly after the top 3, with only 10 teams rated above average (36.0 or better). The bottom half of the region features developing programs working to build competitive programs.

Teams to Watch:

Trinity Catholic (#4, 43.68) returns after a one-year layoff and brings additional depth to the Class 1A field

Belleview (#3, 60.53) and Buchholz (#5, 43.59) provide the region's Class 3A representation

District 1A-5 features four ranked teams (Wildwood #1, Trinity Catholic #4, The Villages #10, South Sumter #17), creating the region's most competitive district race
