Below are the complete Panhandle regional rankings, featuring all 33 teams across all four classifications plus independents. Rankings are based on the Florida Power Rankings Index's two-year historical blend of 2024 and 2025 performance.

Use the table below to see where your team ranks regionally from Pensacola to Tallahassee. These preseason rankings will serve as the baseline as the 2026 season unfolds starting February 16.

Panhandle's Elite Programs:

Choctawhatchee (#1, 75.68) and Pace (#2, 75.34) form an elite duo at the top of the region, both ranking among the state's best in their respective classifications. Chiles (#3, 69.72) and Florida High (#4, 66.42) provide additional championship-caliber talent, giving the Panhandle four programs rated above 66.0.

Classification Breakdown:

Class 4A : 0 teams

Class 3A : 10 teams (Pace leads at #2 overall)

Class 2A : 13 teams (Choctawhatchee leads at #1 overall)

Class 1A : 8 teams (Florida High leads at #4 overall)

Independents : 2 teams (Community Leadership Academy leads at #16 overall)

Competitive Balance:

The Panhandle features an exceptional elite tier with four programs above 66.0, followed by a significant drop to the next tier. The region has 10 teams rated above average (36.0 or better), with the bottom half featuring developing programs working to establish consistency.

Geographic Distribution:

Pensacola-Fort Walton Beach Area : Strong western corridor with Choctawhatchee, Pace, Navarre, Niceville, Booker T. Washington, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, and Destin

Tallahassee Area : Capital region features Chiles, Florida High, Lincoln, Godby, and multiple other programs

Panama City Area : Smaller presence with Rutherford, Bay, Mosley, and Arnold

Teams to Watch:

District 3A-1 features six ranked teams (Pace #2, Navarre #5, Niceville #6, Crestview #10, Tate #14, Gulf Breeze #20), creating one of the state's most competitive district races

Choctawhatchee (#1) and Pace (#2) represent the region's best championship hopes

Florida High (#4) leads a strong Class 1A field with legitimate state title potential

Regional Challenges:

The Panhandle lacks Class 4A representation entirely, limiting its presence in the state's largest classification. However, the region's elite programs in Class 2A and 3A ensure strong statewide competition in those classifications.
