What a year it has been for District 4A-2. Madison County who was our projected district champion for the season missed the playoffs for the first time since 1994, which brought a complete shock to the state. The Cowboys finished third overall in the district after Taylor County won against them 34-33 in Week 6 and Fort White sealed the playoff fate 19-13 in Week 8. However, the bigger story in all of this is that Fort White won its district for the first time in school history. The Indians season was pretty impressive and could and were just a few points off from having its first undefeated season in school history. Taylor County which started the season off a bit sluggish got going good at the right time to make the playoffs as the district runner-up, something we did project correctly. For the Fernandina Beach Pirates, they improved their win total from last season, but still has a long way to go before they are a serious district contender.
