We'll get to a point in time where IMG will own everything, and then Disney and IMG will have to compete for Florida real estate.

Crestview is a good team but they have lost to St Augustine 2 straight years
I'm just not sure I've seen enough by Crestview to tell me they win that game this year but Crestview is definitely best in panhandle that I've seen through observation from afar
Yea. I like to dream and live in lala land until playoffs when Crestview ends up facing adversity.

Change St. Augustine to Crestview.

I'm surprised that Gainesville game was as close as it was
Gainesville in the game they played in Lake City didn't impress me and i felt we would have beaten them had we even made half the shots we took
Who Choctawatchee playing in finals?
Doral Academy.
The Gainesville game was a defensive battle more so than a shootout ha.
-
Choctaw edged Gainesville 54-52 and then beats Hillsborough 88-52 to advance to the state championship
I'm rooting for them, the county hasn't had a team win in a big sport for decades at this point.
-
WEll,. back at it again for the Basketball playoffs.
Choctaw has taken the district crown. They have a chance at breaking regional, but to state? maybe a long shot.

Grats man, I forgot what 19 was like.

oh boy baseball season.

Columbia was able to sweep vanguard this year and will be playing Gainesville next Tuesday for number 1 seed in district and ability to host the tournament
did y'all play a tournament yet?
We had a blowout bash coincide with the college I go to. TCU was able to come down here and they won the college tournament.
-
just bumping this because I don't want to create a thread.
Well my predictions were true, District: Choctawhatchee has this district on lockdown. I would be surprised to see Crestview upset them in the playoffs. Only got to one game so far for Crestview due to school schedule, and they played ok, but they don't have the talent like the other years.

So you get coaches/athletic directors that are retired to represent each section of Florida
The Panhandle gets 3, stretching from Escambia all the way to Liberty maybe? And Leon to Clay gets 3 etc. But Florida has 27 congressional districts, so the number will be smaller than that with the voters covering a bigger area. Maybe 14 coaches/AD??
So you have an X amount of a committee who decides to vote on the teams. Their job is to watch highlights and game footage and the games to determine who gets voted into the playoff system in Florida.
I still have to hash the idea out, but this is off the top of my head.
-
We should do a college football playoff/BCS type system where polls, votes, and strength of schedules determines who gets into the championship game.

Ahhh the audio killed my ears.

Bama to 5, and then whoever loses out of the top 4 the week of 12/2 means Alabama goes back to the top 4.
Now if Miami wins, and TCU beats Oklahoma, how do you rank it? lol

Looks like bloutstown won
Yea Baker had it for a bit, but then Blountstown had a 62 yd play and then scored a TD for 2 possession game. And then scored again for the 41-21 end. Though, 489 offensive yds thats a lot. Good season to Baker. Ready to see how the 1A championship plays out.
-
No idea.
I'm wondering how Lincoln will fair
Choctaw, Crestview will probably be the big district contest again. From the panhandle, I don't know who else is gonna do good. Maybe Pensacola?
-
Still 21-10?

What happened? Who won?

Yes but what would be done to control privates
One of main reason they did open enrollment to my understanding was to limit the advantage private schools naturally get by getting everyone on those same rules
Was that the legislation signed in by Rick Scott back in 2016 that basically allows one student to transfer to the next school without any obstacles?
-
My friend's dad said "This is how devoted Alabama fans are to their team".
I was like, what...
-
Ah I feel you on that.
-
Does Columbia have a swimming team?
-
Escambia vs Crestview.
Baker vs Chipley would be a fun one to go to as well.

So what does this mean for Destin HS? Not going to happen for quite a few years? Could be back on the 2018 ballot?
When the dust settles, the school board will probably put it on the 2018 general election ballot. (I'm not sure if they can do county referendums during general elections) Or wait til May of 2019 for a mail in ballot, so progress will be postponed for a while.

A memoir of high school championships? It'd be cool to find former coaches, athletes and such. Recount memories of those games, moments of making it all the way to state.
