District champs gets you no lower than #4 seed and home for round one. That's good when you consider that the old system did the same. I don't see why schools schedule teams with little chance of winning with hopes of getting points. 35 points is better than 33. Besides, why play an IMG Academy when there are other good programs that can get you potentially 50 points that you actually have a shot at beating?

I've been saying that all along. Of course if you just win your district, points don't matter.

Lemon Bay scored a safety and a TD early, to go up 9-0. Hardee scores 19 unanswered for a 19-9 halftime score. Hardee goes up 26-9 as the 3rd quarter came to an end. Midway in the 4th Hardee scores to make it 33-9. Then a on 1st down Hardee gets a pick 6 to go up 40-9. Lemon Bay got off a good pass to cut it 40-17. Hardee gets ball back, goes 3 and out, then the defense gets another pick 6 to extend the lead 47-17. Lemon Bay scored on another pass with 5 seconds left for a final of 47-23. http://www.heraldtribune.com/sports/20170929/prep-football-hardee-runs-over-lemon-bay-47-23

Good job winning twice in the same week!

That's targeting. What would cut some of this out in my opinion would be to go back to the old style helmets without all the extra padding.

So far I've only got to see them play a half against Sebring. In that game, something like 7 or 8 starters were made sit out the first half, including the starting qb and several on the defense. The game was 28-0 end of 1, at half and then the starters played the second half, after I got up an left. I was told a number of starters didn't play against Avon Park either. At least those are non-district games and likely that Sebring & Avon Park will win out their regular season with 8 or more wins so it shouldn't hurt us point wise. But you're correct, the Southeast game should be for the district title.

1993 South Regional Final Glades Central vs Lake Wales. Down 35-14 at halftime, Lake Wales comes back to win 40-35.

My first chance to post since the storm. They are telling us 10 days without power. Hardee, Desoto, Highlands, Charlotte, Lee and Collier were hit hard but not as bad as hurricane Charley in 2004. No gas anywhere. A lot of down trees and power lines, some flooding and the rivers are past flood stage. Don't know if we have football this week or not. School cancelled until further notice.

Typically both programs have winning seasons and make the playoffs. No major media outlets cover this part of the state

Wasn't there but my son texted me through out the game and from what I can tell this game was pretty back and forth.

Just announced due to the hurricane. I figure if this one was moved others will soon be following.

Final score Sebring 50 Hardee 29. After basically spotting Sebring 28 points. A lot of disappointed fans tonight knowing that this wasn't our best effort.
-
So, I haven't seen my Hardee Wildcats play in person yet. I listen to the kickoff classic and first game broadcast and finally get my chance to see a game tonight. I've heard so much about our qb and some of others that I had high expectations. I go to the game tonight, which was away against Sebring, wait through the weather delay and take my seat in the rain only to learn that several of the best players on the team would not be starting, apparently for being late to practice. I watch as the backups are getting killed. Finally I ( and a lot of others) leave as the weather got worse and Sebring up 28-0. After I leave the starters get put in and now Hardee is making a comeback. 28-14 in the 3rd.

Play the game at Hardee, one hour drive for both parties.
-
No word yet if there will be a make up or not. Bad lightning in the area.
-
It had rained prior to the game, which didn't start until 8 due to lightning. Good thing the game was in Port Charlotte and not Hardee because that storm moved northward and a tornado touched down in Wauchula. The fumbles were due to lights out play by the Hardee defense forcing bad snaps and keeping pressure on the Port Charlotte QB. An impressive job by a group of underclassmen for Hardee; 3 sophs and a freshman on the defense against mostly seniors for Port Charlotte.

Great job by a young defense to hold an experienced offense to only 6!
