  1. The simplest solution would have been to leave it like it was last year but with the provision that a team must be at least .500 to make the playoffs. If a district did not have enough teamms qualify then go to a point system to bring the 3rd or fourth team out of a strong district.
  2. I know PSJ tried to schedule games vs 1A schools offered to travel offered to pay and was refused by all but Wewa (same county admin), Blountstown (main rival), and West Gadsden(defunct). There is nothing you can do if teams won't play you, I hope PSJ is able to make the playoffs but we will see.
  3. That's the exception if you seeded 4a vs 1a best against best down to worst vs worst 4a wins every single game.

  5. I don't like the fact that you don't get anything for playing higher classification teams. I realize that a good 1a team may be harder to beat than a bad 4a team but a bad 4a team will smoke a bad 1a team. If classification doesn't matter then do away with classification.
  6. He at least kept them out of the top ten
  7. Coaching staffs change. More importantly you would be better served to coach somewhere else first and come into there with some experience. You may want to start in peewee and learn the ropes and then you will already have a relationship with the players .
  8. The more I read on IMG the more I think Columbiahighfan may have the right idea about this whole thing.
  9. Okay I feel better knowing the state is funding them and they are going to be alright.
  10. To call them a high school football program is a gross misrepresentation of what they are. I am fine with them being what they are but do not compare them to true high schools they are more of a club league. If schools agree to play them fine but realize you are at a disadvantage and they may take your best players the next year.
  11. IMG company story from their website: Founded in 1960 with a single deal that would prove the advent of modern-day sports marketing, IMG is now a global leader in sports, events, media and fashion, operating in more than 30 countries. The company represents and manages some of the world’s greatest sports figures and fashion icons; stages hundreds of live events and branded entertainment experiences annually; and is one of the largest independent producers and distributors of sports media. IMG also specializes in sports training; league development; and marketing, media and licensing for brands, sports organizations and collegiate institutions.
  12. I always wonder about the relationship between IMG and certain NCAA programs and if there is any quid pro quo expected of player after college
  13. The IMG company was a sports agency representing a lot of big time pro athletes if I remember correctly
  14. I am pretty sure they started as a tennis academy
  15. I will say this a family making 40-50k per year sending their kid off to a private boarding school at 75k tuition when he already has scholarship offers from every major D1 program as a freshman doesn't add up. I know the community doesn't get together and pay it and it is tough getting 75 out of 45, so I hope IMG is giving scholarships. But I did hear from a players family he was on scholarship.
  16. Yep Trey Sanders a star among stars at IMG. I am very happy for him and his family he has an older brother playing juco ball in Mississippi. IMG has the ability to provide for him academically in a way that he would not get at a public 1A school. I wish he still played here but that is for selfish reasons just a pleasure to watch him play.
  17. I don't think you can compare IMG to any other high school program in the state. Also players aren't taking the 6 or 7 periods of class per day that normal student athletes do they are tutored in core classes and and do not have to deal with the typical struggles an athlete does in public or most private schools. I personally don't have a problem with IMG and what they do but it is like comparing apples and oranges or better yet apples and helicopters.
  18. IMG gives scholarships to kids that would never be able to afford 70k a year
  19. Yep, it really showed on special teams.
  20. I think they will match up better with NFC. Looking at their rosters AA is a lot bigger than NFC on the line they also had a pair of running backs at 200lb and 220lb that were as fast as anybody we had and we are pretty fast team. PSJ has got to get their kick coverage problems figured out
  21. Way to bounce back, can't question columbia's heart. A tiger backed into a corner is a dangerous thing.
  22. I thought I would give a summary of tonight's game, since Columbiafan does it their games . Autauga is a very impressive team ,big fast, and well coached, one of the player's father told me they had 8 players with D1 offers. Autauga jumped out early and built a 21-0 lead halfway through the first quarter. PSJ fought back and dominated the 2nd quarter and tied the game at 21 going into halftime. AA came out and controlled the 3rd quarter building a 42-21 lead. PSJ played well in the 4th but just didn't have the horses to defeat Autauga. 45-28 Final. PSJ showed a lot of fight and left it all on the field. Special teams was the biggest difference in the game with AA returning 2 punts for TDs and had a couple of long KO returns, the AA placekicker consistently put KOs thru the endzone. PSJ should not see any team of this caliber again unless they reach the 1A finals. Proud of St Joe for fighting til the end.
  23. I found this link on an Autauga Academy site I am pretty sure this is the link for their live stream of the game between Port St Joe and Autauga https://thecube.com/event/port-st-joe-high-school-vs-autauga-academy-boys-va-750829 . Autauga is ranked in the top 25 for the state of Alabama I don't really know how good they are but they have won 18 straight from film I watched they appear to be well coached with some really good players. I don't know if they have faced a team as fast as PSJ but I guess we will see tonight. Hope our boys will represent.
