I too read several articles relating to the 26 ineligible players before the original post. The most insightful one was an ex-SID (Sports Information Director) who put the full blame on the incompetence of the FAMU administration. He stated the school had previously had similar issues and what they had done was ask for guidance from FSU who's campus was only one mile down the road. He and others formed a good personal relationship with compliance officers at FSU who freely helped them get their house in order. These two state funded institutions are side by side. Why there isn't more sharing and communication is ridiculous. I guess they're separate Kingdoms in the same neighborhood.

Sometimes those P.E. classes can stress a student/athlete's mental capabilities like it did for both of you old school Rattler's.

Peezy, NulliSecundus, what's going on in Tally with the Rattlers ? They played a nationally televised opener Saturday (ACC Network) at the University of North Carolina with a partial, bare bones squad missing 26 ineligible players. Didn't this same thing happen a few years back ? They play a Deion Sanders led Jackson State in Miami next Sunday afternoon in front of the whole nation (ESPN) on Labor Day weekend. Who's running that Mickey Mouse program on the hills of Tallahassee ? Some are pointing fingers at the alumni (Wink,Wink). SMDH.

Is Reuben Bain kin to Tolbert Bain and Travarous Bain ? I remember those names back in the day. My wife got family on NW 117th and also others under the Traz Powell stadium lights. Front yard lit up every game

In years past many of the Miami public schools played up a class or two or three. Is that not still an option ? Must be a half dozen 2 Metro's that would give 4 Metro a fit.

Wow ! Bucs 42 Deland 29. Good game. Deland is now smash mouth football and has the bodies to carry out the mission. A couple mistakes held their scoring down, but Mainland too could have easily put 50-60 on them without much trouble if at mid season form. Deland will win District 9, Suburban 4 and battle Osceola, Treasure Coast, and Vero for the Region 3 title. Mainland too, if they stay healthy, will win their district and make trouble for anyone else in their way. Mainland's passing game is the most explosive they have had in decades, scary good. Don't want to go nuts after a big opening season start and win. Big Deland appeared to beat on a smaller Mainland defense from my bleacher view, but my Bucs have heart and resiliency and beat on them in return. Deland's single wing will be Apopka nasty in a few weeks. Look out Spruce Creek. Coach D ain't play'in... All is well tonight in Daytona.

Gainesville Buchholz's defense overwhelmed Columbia's generic and unimaginative offense all night long. ColumboFan pointed out the poor field condition as a contributing factor. Both teams looked to have multiple D-1's on defense. Also both being in the Suburban football brackets (Buchholz 4, LC 3) greatly increases their odds of being a future player in a run to a championship. (IMO) Metro 3 & 4 has more strength and competition.
