Dude, Im telling you that maybe you should go up to Vero's coaches and tell them how to win this game!  I am sure some of the coaches remember you from 2013.

Pretty sure Coach Janikowski is aware of this forum and what’s going on and said about Vero. He after all is the one who was nominating Vero guys for player of the week directly to the site this year.

Coconut Creek played an 8-2 Greeley, Colorado team and beat them 21-0.  That same team would not be 8-2 playing in south Florida.  If they were in the same district as Coconut Creek, they would likely be 5-5, at best.  I hear complaints of OOS teams coming to Florida and playing our inferior teams.

Does the current system potentially reward FL teams for finding "good" teams in football-weak states and playing them?  Coconut Creek could not beat 4 teams in its own district, but found a powder puff in another state and that helps them make the playoffs?  Am I missing something here?  Maybe there is an assumption that OOS games are all tough, but clearly this one was not.

I currently live in western CO right now in a place called Montrose. Watch them a couple times a year usually including a few years ago when they were state runner ups as well as the better teams in Grand Junction. Most competitive teams in FL would destroy most CO teams I’m certain. A guy I work with played for Cherry Creek HS out here I believe and played at one of the Disney games. He told me they pretty much know they’re going to be given  easy win teams from FL and play them for the trip to Disney, football is secondary. It was pretty sad to hear that.

  3. Jensen Beach (6-4) were the 8th seed going into the final week and got jumped by then 10th seed Norland(4-6). They got screwed in the aspect Centenial and Port St Lucie decided to call their game due to lightning. This made Centinial 7-2. Most likely they would of beat PSL and made them a Cat 1 team if I’m correct at 8-2 and given PSL a 5 point bump and they would have made the playoffs. By canceling the game and not making up at a different time or location PSL got screwed out if the playoffs due to the points, they did what they needed to due but got let down by another team the final week.

All the food is on the home side now via the food trucks, the Math club still runs the concession areas, but there isn’t food  there any more, just drinks and candy. All the food trucks are on the home side now, but it’s a short walk over there and the Vero fans tend to be very nice and are accommodating.

Definately better than most places I’ve been.

O wow when did they do that? I’ve lived out of state for a while now didn’t know that. Loved going down to the concession stand and getting a slice of pizza and hanging out with my dad there.

I sit on the visitor side all the time

Grew up going to all the games on the visitor side too. Never had issues with falling thru the bleachers even as a small boy. Bathrooms were always adequate better than some stadiums I been to. Food stand is large in comparison to some small food stands at other stadiums and they serve on all three sides. Never once had to go to the home side for anything.

Vero has not been terribly successful running the ball...

    Venice-22 carries for 48 yards

Dr Krop 15 carries for 77 yards

Pahokee 26 carries for 78 yards

Centennial 29 carries for 70 yards

I cannot see them winning a state title without more consistent balance on offense.  If they make it to the state final, I suspect they will face a very tough defense that will pin their ears back if Vero is one dimensional.

Yes and no. Despite not having good numbers rushing they have been trying  to get the ground game running poor efficiency has been a cause but also penalties. They had some big plays come back for calls which would have helped our numbers and also its was more so a “who’s gonna be the best option” at first with no clear view at the beginning of the season if we had a workhorse so the line really never got a chance to come together in the offseason and mesh to see what style running back they’d be blocking for, as we know different backs have different  styles of running which requires a different style of blocking despite the same plays being called.  I think the second half with Primus-Winston being the “bell cow” they will improve knowing how he runs. Not to mention they don’t have a by week until later this season so it wasn’t like they could install anything earlier. I have faith they’ll get the running game better, as I believe the coaches want to have it as a bigger part of the game plans.
