  1. Clearwater Academy International Knights 18 McCallie (Chattanooga TN) Blue Tornados 8 I actually have no idea who Clearwater Academy is but I worked at and coached at McCallie back in the day. McCallie is actually a pretty good Tennessee Private School Program https://scorestream.com/team/mccallie-school-blue-tornado-262770/games So Florida HS Football broke the streak!!!!!
  2. And we will play them wherever that final is, it does not matter, home, away, neutral or in the lot behind Publix. But first things first, see who does come to Lakeland for round 1. Worry about where round 2 is when they get there.
  3. I'm not sure Lakeland has the #1 seed locked up at all. Armwood could still get it as the value of Lakeland's win over Kathleen is worth almost zilch. They were separated by 7.20 vs 7.19. Being undefeated should carry more weight than it does but an Armwood win over an undefeated Gaither may do the trick for Armwood. Now if you guys can beat them..............
  4. Well only 1 game has an elite team playing. So...
  5. Lakeland vs Kathleen will be live on you tube https://lakelandfootball.com/watch-live/
  6. I think they're elite Certainly they are in Florida 7A and that is where they need to be superior in abilities. That said it is hard to win a title and so i will watch and see.
  7. A select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities or rank to the rest of a group.
  8. I did not miss your point. You think Florida football is not currently elite. And we need to ascribe to your definition of what an elite team is. And we should humbly sit with our tails between our legs and not schedule "elite" teams from another state and accept the situation as is. Well your opinion has been noted. On to Lakeland - Kathleen game and the Dillard - Ely Games and the non-elite teams therein.
  9. So? Who cares? I don't live in other places and I'm not from other places. I live in Florida and watch HS football in Florida. I don't care about who wins California or Texas or Michigan or any other place. I've coached HS football in 5 different states and would gladly take the talent from Florida. Is IMG a Florida school? Not really, the student body hails from everywhere. They're more like Notre Dame, which is not an Indiana school but happens to be in Indiana. The biggest difference is that Notre Dame can win a National Championship but IMG can't win a Florida High School Championship. Not so sure why you seemed obsessed with badmouthing Florida High School Football, but we get it, you don't like our lack of Elite teams and feel like casting shade. More power to you! Lakeland is playing Kathleen, that is the only game I care about at the moment. Elite or not. Is not Dillard trying for an undefeated regular season? Seems like that is a fantastic thing, who cares if they are not as elite as Prep School USA in faraway states.
  10. A lot of flapping gums about "cheating" but with no evidence offered of that. Something within the rules isn't cheating, and transfers are within the rules. And if the parents make the effort to do the paperwork for a legitimate transfer it seems that is what they believe is in the best interest of their kids. If people can prove or offer evidence that coaches are recruiting then please do so.
  11. They actually struggle to fill out a 10 game season for the Blue squad, some teams , even OOS teams, won't play them and others aren't willing or able to travel to Bradenton. IMG thus must work out the travel for their team and the resulting needs of the team. This is less a high school and more like a small college...bordering on a moderate sized college. I fully expect at some point IMG will own it's own aircraft so as to eliminate at least one travel issue, and now they can offer (for a reduced fee) a hotel for visiting teams on campus. The goal is to win games and prepare players to transition to 1A college programs, at bost they appear to be a success. That said it still wasn't my favorite job.
  12. Well I worked for IMG for 2 years and won't say I hated it but it wasn't my favorite job either. They spend a ton of money and cut corners and go cheap on many things. Like most corporations their pay scales are wildly different. Those at the top make lots, those at the bottom not as much. Teacher pay isn't all that. And IMO the education given isn't all that either. But the sports facilities are first rate and it really is a school for sports and not academics. There are far better prep/boarding schools for studies. The food facilities are adequate but not great. They just finished a hotel on property which was very much a big ticket item as was the new dorm and swimming park. Should see some of the cars these kids drive... But I found their football games to be dull, no pizazz, a band and cheerleaders brought in from local kids, no real student interaction. Few actually attend. Seemed like an event for a select few to see and be seen and congratulate themselves...if you know what I mean. More like a Jr. College game. I will say this, the fact that they or a key manager were involved in the SAT scandal did not leave me shocked. Right across the street is Bayshore High School and I would rather attend one of their games. They may be elite but the lipstick on a pig comes to my mind whenI think of my time there. Very expensive lipstick and prime pork of course.
  13. St. Andrews 80 Lake Highland Prep 0 - another ugh game!
  14. So much for the running clock to stave off a blowout. 84-0 over Belleview. I am not a fan of the running clock in principal but understand the reasoning even so, this was unfortunate any game got this bad.
  15. Oh I'm sorry did you say something? I forgot you were there, you may go now.
  16. I would never bet against IMG but this should be a difficult game for them, if they blow these guys away then I want to see a special bowl game for a Mater Dei/IMG rematch from last year.
  17. !!!!! This Martin in many ways moved the team slightly better but it didn't help Garnett that they kept Bowman out of Strawberry Crest and he had to sit out Durant nor that he missed almost 3 weeks with an injury after being named the starter. But he isn't making critical mistakes and that is good.
  18. What I mean about the officiating and it was even worse at Durant. And the running clocks certainly don't aid the Dreadnaughts Offense, which is what the running clock is supposed to do.
  19. Agreed, Manatee and Polk county had decent referees, Plant City, not so much.
  20. What has Jenkins EVER done? Didn't say Lee was great, said they weren't a nobody. Jenkins is a nobody.
  21. That's utter nonsense. In Polk they let them play and perhaps Hillsborough coaches don't like that. Utter nonesense.
  22. No you didn't miss anything, comparing Lee to Jenkins is not even apples to oranges, its apples to asparagus.
  23. Well no I wouldn't but GJ isn't RELee
