Talent wise In my opinion DILLARD matches up perfectly with all 3 of those national powerhouses. the only thing stopping Dillard from being the fav is that all 3 have NOT imploded they’re still ELITE & Dillard has to prove they can beat them. If Dillard goes to chaminade and beat this national squad they will be very well 3-0 going into the Miami central game & could be favored but first things first, ROCK CREEK we need our first win vs a OOS opponent for the first time and lord knows how many years.

Bro this is not about who got more transfers, all I’m saying is Dillard getting all these transfers SOLIDIFIES nothing, do I predict a great season ? Yessir, but they still have to make it happen on the field. STA,MC & CHAMINADE , are all defending champions with a star powered team in their own right, now has Dillard been the top beneficiary of the transfers THIS OFFSEASON ? Could be, but that doesn’t take away the fact they still have to prove it on the field. Are these matchups gonna be huge, MOST DEFINITELY but I still expect all 3 teams above to be the favored to win.

My g what am I not understanding? You basically furthered proved my point. All I was saying is that YES, Dillard has received a lot of transfers so far this off season, YES Dillard can be possibly fielding one of if not their best team (talent wise) in school history . but as I stated up top, that ONLY qualifies us to compete in the race Aka (have a fighting chance against the 3 national ranked juggernauts you mentioned above who has BEEN THERE,DONE THAT) , but getting all these transfers Guarantees NOTHING, like I stated just because we have a boat load of transfers so does, chaminade, STA & central ; point is you STILL have to produce on the field Aka compete or win. Which Dillard has a chance to prove in just a few short weeks.

What’s funny , even with all the transfers Dillard has gotten they’ve only just gotten to the race. it’s other schools out here with just as many transfers and are loaded at every position. For ex Chaminade “2 best wrs in the nation” best rb, best o line. Miami central full touted players & transfers STA as well - all 3 teams we have to play , 2 on the road , so if you ask me getting all these players just give Dillard a respectful fighting chance. Where as another school would get took to the wood shed because they lack the personal to compete with the schools mention.

What I love about this is DEPTH , that’s how STA has strived for decades having multiple capable or bonafide starters for each position, unfortunately we play a game where injuries happen & that’s your only star, if he’s out for any significant time that can be your season. in this case Dillard had depth for days, wanna double team somebody else on the opposite side gonna eat.

The MIAMI central game, we’re gonna be coming off a bye so that game can go either way. The rockets should & will be favored until Dillard proves they can beat em, but if we come into that game with a undefeated record and a win over a OOS opponent and chaminade on the road then that very well could be a str8 up pick em game or Dillard maybe favored we would have to see. but minimum 8-2 record @ worst (7-3) if we lose to all 3 national opponents on our schedule which would be extremely disappointing, with this roster Dillard has to go atleast 2-1 vs the three to get the respect they’ve been aiming for.

In all honesty my g I can see us finishing 8-2 at worst 7-3 , I don’t see us going undefeated at all neither do I want us to especially if we only end up having a early playoff exit. Atp a undefeated regular season means nothing. i do believe we beat 1 of the 3 national gauntlets on our schedule, do I see us winning all 3 RIGHT NOW? Hell na lol. that chaminade game on the road is gonna be extremely extremely tough so early on in the season second game of the season matter fact & it usually takes mid season for the entire team to click. so I can see us losing that game (hopefully not) since it’s a revenge game.

Tbh I believe we can beat them home or away if we play like were capable. & granted MNW is a daunting opponent, I don’t think they’re ranked in the top 20 nationally, when you think about what Dillard is going up against this upcoming season they’re going up against the #5 #13 & the #15 team in the nation, for a team like Dillard that is not viewed as a powerhouse that’s HUGE & impressive. & they didn’t have to play out of state all 3 are from south Florida & are the best teams in Florida , so that’s why I think Dillard has one of the toughest in state schedules in Florida.

i know I’ve already posted Dillard entire schedule but the more I think about these 3 games all I can say is DAM! lol is there any other public school in the state playing THREE Top 20 nationally ranked teams, ALL from the state of Florida. not only are these 3 opponents nationally ranked, but all of them are defending state champions & 2 of those matchups are gonna be on the road. out of Dillards lengthy program history, I believe this has to be one of there toughest schedules ever. Then on top of that them boys traveled way to exit 1 dam near Florida city , most of their own family wasn’t in the stands because of the distance which is crazy like YO this is the playoffs, add the rain & Dillard looked like they weren’t even conditioned for it, it’s like when it rain their ability to catch & hold on to balls drop significantly against worthy opponents who are gonna make you work for it.

What’s crazy is it seem as if we’ve had some of our worst performances in rain, granted both teams have to play in but Dillard just seem to play their worst ball in it & struggle mightily offensively. that 50-0 lost to ely when we were 20+ point favs in the last soul bowl at Lockhart where every tipped ball was intercepted, every lose ball was recovered by ely. Only for us to shock carol city in the first round the very next week as 28 point underdogs.

I look at that game as it just wasn’t our night, it was a good game. Both teams came in (10-1) & both teams had a very good defense. homestead had nothing to lose and played with house money, while everybody in south Florida was ready for the rematch with STA VS DILLARD. add the fact Dillard was on the road, 85% of our fans didn’t show up cuz of the rain & the distance “SMH” Dillard just didn’t get it done.

We’ve proven we can go toe to toe with STA at STA , if u ask me I think our players play better on the road. We haven’t necessarily had all world success at home in the playoffs either, but aye let’s just take it one game at a time & see where we’re at. in my opinion anything short of a regional finals birth would be a HUGGGEEEEEE disappointment for Dillard.

In the last meeting STA scored 2 points off a safety & when the score was 14-16 with 2 min left to go in the game STA blocked the field goal atp and returned it for 7 , take that away it’s a 14-14 ball game with on offense on STA goal line with Dillard most likely walking away with the win if they cash in. our defense did their part when we struck first to go up 7-0 and then got a interception on defense the very next drive for STA that’s when Dillard as the underdog supposed to cash in & go up double figures, does that mean we would’ve won the game? No but with the way our defense played all game we would have been in great position.

Lol, if you ask me DILLARD & STA was dam near even if not on the same page as STA if we’re going off last years matchup, let’s not forget the #1 team in the nation went on that same field & was blown out. now granted this is a entirely new year & last year means nothing, so Dillard has to go out their & kick some ass regardless of how many transfers we get. even with all these transfers I still expect at most 2 loses by season end that will have us primed for a deep playoff run come nov, baring no serious injuries or anything.

Football season is almost here, a lot of great matchups can’t wait.
