  1. All, Things are tough around here. Unfortunately, the site is losing money, and I am having to look at all options from revamping my monetization strategy which includes a whole new subscription platform including having subscribers pay for almost everything that will be placed behind a paywall and/or potentially charging for access to the forums. Another option in consideration is to basically shut the website down entirely (something I would not want to do, but may have to). At this point, everything is on the table as we enter May. I can't keep giving everything away for free anymore including access to the forums without revenue coming in. This is not a hobby for yours truly here, this is a livelihood. JOURNALISM IS NOT FREE, THE NEWS IS NOT FREE, MEDIA IS NOT FREE... there is a cost to it and sadly when people don't want to pay or are unwilling to pay for content, it impacts jobs across the board in this industry. The ads you all see here bring in little revenue. I do not make a lot of money on those. The only ads I make money on are ones I directly sell and companies are unfortunately pulling back or they are dumping a lot of that ad money into Facebook or Google, which, unfortunately, dominates the market for ads by over 80%, leaving little room for independent publishers like myself to make money. The only way at this point I can see this all remaining free is if I get donations or an investor (which they are pulling back with a recession looming). So I just want to give you all a heads up of what could be coming soon. Josh
  2. And all of these recommendations will take two-years before anything can be implemented. They will have to have another read by both the Football Advisory and ADAC in 2024 before they go to the board for an official vote, if they make it that far.
  3. Lace is highly appropriate given we have to tie our laces up to get out on the field! Thank you much!
  4. 13 years agon February 1, 2010, I launched FloridaHSFootball.com as something to be involved in the world of high school football and here we are getting ready to roll into year 14! Thank you to everyone for your support along the way!
  5. It appears looking at an Orlando Sentinel article now, CFCA was misled from the sounds of it. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/highschool/football/os-sp-hs-cfca-football-fhsaa-jeremy-campbell-20230118-ipqdtisujzhr7jfvz5c3kf6pci-story.html
  6. SSAC 11-Man is for the smaller private/charter schools. They will have their own champs. Atlantic League will have their own champs as well.
  7. Yes, the student was enrolled at Dr. Phillips from what I have been able to look up. The only reason I did not name that school in specific as it was not in correlation to the article, only the fact Central Florida Christian was removed from the SSAC due to the violations.
  8. The Sunshine State Athletic Conference will have over 75 teams across three different leagues going into the 2023 season which is the largest number of programs they will have ever since forming in 2008. 40 team will make up the 11-man league which is mostly private and small charter schools while the Atlantic league will have 12 teams mostly consisting of struggling public high school programs. The 8-man league will have 25 teams across six divisions. Here is more on everything including quotes from the SSAC: https://floridahsfootball.com/2023/01/25/sunshine-state-athletic-conference-announces-2023-teams-for-11-man-8-man-and-atlantic-leagues/
  9. Here is my preview on Friday night's Class 2M State Championship Game between American Heritage and Miami Central. As you all know this game carries a lot of weight here with national title implications on the line.
  10. Got to talk to the head man of the Miami Central Rockets, first-year head coach Jube Joseph. Love this coach and he has been a long time follower of what we do here. I appreciate Coach Joseph for his time to talk about the upcoming Class 2M State Championship Game on Friday night:
  11. Got to talk to American Heritage Head Coach Mike Smith ahead of the Class 2M State Championship game on Friday night. Watch more here:
  12. Here is my preview on the Class 3S State Championship for Friday afternoon. This is going to be a good one but I think Lake Wales has an edge here. I love it for these two teams who have seen bigger metropolitan schools stand in their way.
  13. This interview I was really excited about doing because I have always found Coach Roland to be a very personable and relatable human and who is also happens to be in my age group. You can check out the video interview here:
  14. Here is the preview on FloridaHSFootball.com on tomorrow night's Class 3M State Championship game between Homestead and St. Thomas Aquinas:
  15. I interviewed Homestead HC Philip Simpson prior to tomorrow night's Class 3M State Championship Game. Check it out!
  16. The top tweet from Hawthorne winning it all... this expresses it all here in this one:
  17. I will nip this one in the bud here and say let's not go down this rabbit hole of what happened two games ago. Hawthorne is a proud little town and this has been a goal for years. I do not want to take away from the kids here.
  18. I will be doing the Coaches Moving Van once again. Please email directly via email at joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com.
  19. Also the responsibility of the schools to make sure the correct information is submitted. It goes both ways when it comes to data.
  20. It is the margin of victory factor that is not equated into the formula for the FHSAA. I am telling you all this now. If the margin of victory component was added in you would see how it impacts SOS significantly and the rankings themselves.
  21. Suggesting we should banish districts once and for all or should coaches put more emphasis on their non-district schedule?
  22. About time they woke up from their slumber on that one.
  23. Watered down? Looking at this week's games, they are mostly competitive matchups outside a couple of games. Are we really serious that we are going to say this is watered down? Of course we could be like New Jersey and hand out 20 plus titles a year. We could be like them.
  24. These teams have been in the same district and region at many times over the years. Try another argument with this one.
  25. You just admitted it... just totally admitted it here why we have Metro/Suburban now.
