Bishop Moore Hornets check in at No. 25 on our countdown of the Top 25 teams on the Sunshine State 25. I understand that, but they are going to need more than just put a good fight. Walton stand a better chance at beating Bolles right now than Gulliver Prep will against the three knowns of Region IV at the moment. If they come out of the gate swinging then all bets are off.

I am just trying to figure out this fascination with Gulliver Prep... Got good kids and things like that, but how about actually stop playing second fiddle to Booker T. then some might take them a little bit more seriously (i.e. I am saying they need to to beat Booker T. and this would be the year to do it).

Clewiston or Walton anyone?

I am more closer in that range with 4A as well.

Interesting...you think BTW is above Bolles now? Just curious behind the reasoning. Glades Central could be in the low end mix. I think Clewiston is certainly in the mix as well.

I want to hear it from the posters who you feel should be Top 10 for each of the following classes - 8A, 7A, 6A, & 5A; and for Top 5 for each of the following classes - 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A. I am in the middle of doing some more research on teams and I like to see what you all are feeling and hearing. Actually myself even has Cocoa above Booker T. Washington. There are things there are that are telling me that Booker T. Washington is not that team we have been use to the last four years. No way. Cocoa has a question mark or two, but will be the year that all good things must come to an end so to speak.

i don't know what the heck is going on, but after seeing a different set of Top 25 rankings from a source I won't name, I am in shock. So folks, give me your Top 25. We will be doing our rankings in-house this year because I feel like they can be done better than what is out there. Please feel free to reach out to me as well. NOTE: I will have more topics of discussion coming as well....

Come on now....Columbia will be lucky to crack the Top 25 this year...provide it beats all the teams it needs to beat.

Sorry, I have been off the grid so to speak, but Cat_Scratch, you just made my day with your rankings...you are in the neighborhood on some of where I want to go for our preseason rankings. As for a particular publication, I will not name, the rankings I saw were atrocious and considering some teams have had some major shifts, the list fell flat.

We are taking a slightly different approach than first announced about a month ago due to some logistics, but the plan set forth is solid. We have made it an incentive for teams to turn in questionnaires so they can be featured in the spotlight with their own team preview. I think they will be alright, just not as good as we are use to seeing them be. But then again I have seen crazy things happen between the end of May and August. I think when it comes time ask Coach Coe some questions near the start of the season and his expressions will tell me up or down what to expect.

May or may not. I wasn't totally impressed with them even running those five or six plays they did run. And yes I was there myself. There are issues on defense as well. So them not whooping Hamilton as everyone expected in the spring (which they did whoop them in the previous spring) is a sign to me of to see how far Madison can go. Right now 1A is open to the masses. If you want to win it, you better be ready otherwise get out of the way as they say.

Remember, now that for Trenton to make a run it could run through Fort Meade, Frostproof or even Pahokee now. 1A has changed, but the teams added are going to provide us some matchups to remember.

I think Cocoa stands the best chance to beat Booker T. this year for the first time in a few years (I know this past year the came close). Remember if Booker T. or Miami Central, 4-peat's they will be joining rare company only held by Suwannee and North Florida Christian as they are still the only two teams to this day that have 4-peated in the state. Cocoa came close in 2011, but Booker T. got them in the state semis to stop it from happening.

Not totally surprised by the drop off with Madison County. They didn't look strong a couple of weeks ago in the scrimmages at Fort White and I believe this all ties into one thing of their enrollment being down. People wanted to complain, but I think they are about to see Madison might just be a non-factor in who advances to state this year. I think at this point is really anyone's game for 1A still and people pushed the panic button before the first snaps were taken.
