Welcome to our in depth coverage of the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game. We will presenting previews of all the positions through out the week. This third preview will look in depth of all the safeties in this year’s game.
#7 Vonn Bell | Ridgeland HS | Rossville, GA | 6’0, 190 | Undeclared
Currently still undeclared as of late December, but Bell is leaning towards Alabama, Tennessee, and Ohio State although he holds multiple more offers.. He has visits schedule for all three next month so it is unlikely we would see him make a commitment this week during the Under Armour Game. Bell is a guy who will during a game with zone coverage while showing off his impressive ball skills. Bell is ranked #61 overall player in the nation on the ESPN 150 player rankings. He is the 5th overall best safety according to ESPN.
#9 Holland Fisher | Manchester HS | Midlothian, VA | 6’2, 203 | Virginia Tech
Fisher has been a Virginia Tech commitment since February 2012 although he has been presented with other offers including ones from Alabama, North Carolina and Maryland. Fisher has strong tackling skills while allowing his coverage skills and instinctive diagnosing skills help lead the way for him. Fisher has participated in Gridiron Kings and The Opening. Fisher is rated #108 overall player in the nation on the ESPN 150 player rankings. Fisher is consider the #9 overall best safety in the nation according to ESPN. Fisher attends the same school as current Indianapolis Colts linebacker Kavell Conner.
#22 Leon McQuay III | Armwood HS | Seffner, FL | 6’2, 183 | Undeclared
McQuay is undecided coming into this game and might be this way until National Signing Day. McQuay holds offers multiple offers from successful Division I programs including in-state rivals Florida and Florida State. However, he has used all five official visits that have included Oregon, Michigan and USC. McQuay has impressive man-to-man coverage skills and also allows his instinct skills to show off why he is one of the best safeties in the nation. These skills were part of allowed McQuay to lead Armwood to state championship game appearances in 2010 and 2011 before forfeits from the FHSAA overturned them due to ineligible players. McQuay has participated in prestigious events including Gridiron Kings and The Opening and is ranked #32 overall in the ESPN 150 player rankings. McQuay is consider the 3rd best safety overall in the nation by ESPN. McQuay attends the same school that once was the place where former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Mike Pearson played for under current head coach Sean Callahan.
#26 Marcell Harris | Dr. Phillips HS | Orlando, FL | 6’1 , 209 | Florida
Harris, who committed to Florida back in November 2012 has spent his high school career at multiple schools, but really stood out in his senior year at Dr. Phillips HS in Orlando. Now, Harris is being rewarded as an All-American after spending time before at South Lake HS in Groveland, FL and West Orange HS in Winter Garden, FL. Harris plays well in zone coverage as a safety and does well in the run support department as well. Harris has participated in Gridiron Kings and The Opening as a high school athlete. Harris is the #68 player overall in the ESPN 150 player rankings and is the 7th overall best safety in the nation according to ESPN. Harris’ father played college football at Florida and attends the same school that includes former NFL player Ike Charlton.
#42 Keanu Neal | South Sumter HS | Bushnell, FL | 6’1, 203 | Florida
Neal, a Florida commitment since February 2012, has been a major leader for South Sumter over the last couple of years. Neal is an instinctive athlete and does very well working with zone coverages in the game. Neal has placed The Opening on his resume as a high school athlete and is ranked #63 overall on the ESPN 150 player rankings. Neal is also consider to be the 6th best safety overall in the country according to ESPN.
#3 Priest Willis | Marcos De Niza HS | Tempe, AZ | 6’2, 190 | Undeclared
Priest Willis, the 50th ranked recruit on ESPN 150, has over 25 FBS offers to choose from. Notable offers include Arizona St, LSU, Florida St, Nebraska and Virginia. As a senior at Marcos De Niza HS, Willis had 55 tackles, 2 INT and 8 pass deflections.
#12 Antonio Conner | South Panola HS | Batesville, MS | 6’2, 200 | Undeclared
Antonio Conner played safety and running back at South Panola HS. At the Under Armour game, Conner, the 21st ranked recruit on ESPN 150, will play safety. He is another safety on Team Nitro (White) that is undeclared on a school. Conner has offers from seven SEC schools, as well as PAC 12 power-house, Oregon.
