Quarterback challenge?
Looking over all between both Team Highlight and Team Nitro, Nitro is more in line of having a quarterback challenge. When you have Shane Morris (De La Salle Collegiate / Warren, MI), Brice Ramsey (Camden County / Kingsland, GA) and Kevin Olsen (Wayne Hills / Wayne, NJ) all taking practice snaps and all looking top notch it makes you wonder who might actually get the nod to start on Friday. Right now I feel Ramsey is more in line to be the starter, but remember with three practice sessions left, anything can happen.
Strong bounce back for Armwood (Seffner, FL)
Considering it has only been less than a year since the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) stripped the Armwood Hawks of its 2011 Class 6A state championship title (plus its entire 15 win season) and 14 wins from 2010, things are up for the eastern Hillsborough County school. The bounce back for this team is ATH Alvin Bailey and S Leon McQuay III being named All-Americans this year along with head coach Sean Callahan being named an All-American Assistant Coach, it is a true testament that great things can happen even if you go through a down period. Look for both Bailey and McQuay to go out with a bang in this game. Bailey, McQuay and Callahan are part of Team Highlight.
Coley having fun
Team Nitro WR Stacy Coley (Northeast / Oakland Park, FL) is having fun already at the practices for the game, he told the media yesterday. He also said it is a challenge for him, but it is a new phase for him as well. He is still undecided where he might be committing to, but some schools that are still in the mix include Florida State, Florida and even possibly Ole Miss. Where ever Coley lands at they will be getting a talent boost.
FIRED UP!
Every year Coach Cox from IMG Academy knows how to get players “FIRED UP!” This is one of the best opening parts of the practices every year and the players get the energy going just from him pumping them up. My advice is if your team needs a motivational pump up in 2013, try to go get Coach Cox if you can. It will be worth it!
