Why: This is a pretty historical match-up as this will become the first regular season game to be coached by a female head football coach in the state of Florida when Lakatriona Brunson takes the field on Friday night. However, she already hit the ground running quickly when the Generals flew by Coral Reef for a 36-0 win, according to the Miami Herald. It gave her and her Generals a huge shot of momentum going into this week playing a well-known Class 8A Columbus program. For Columbus, however, is coming off a stinging 19-11 loss to Boyd Anderson in their preseason opener last week. They will have to figure out what will work to get more points on the board, something that traditionally has not been an issue for the Explorers. However, if they perform like they did in the preseason kickoff classic with more mistakes on offense than scoring it could set up for the same storyline as well as in giving Brunson the historic first regular-season win of her coaching career.
