TOP PERFORMERS: Week 3’s top performers of the 2019 season

Each week during the season FloridaHSFootball.com will recognize the Top Five performances by athletes in each classification including ones for Independents & Sunshine State Athletic Conference teams (excluding the North Florida League which are considered for Class 1A).

Please include the name of athlete, stats, school, and game the nomination is for. NOTE: Also helps if you upload your stats weekly to MaxPreps for us to find as well.

Without further ado, here are Week 3’s top performers for the 2019 season:

CLASS 8A

RB Adrian Moncrieffe, Forest Hill – Rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons’ 42-20 win over John I. Leonard.

QB Pete Zamora, Monarch – Went 12-of-15 passing for 231 yards and five touchdowns in 56-0 win over Pompano Beach).

QB Keymari Odum, Ridge Community – Had nearly 300 total yards of offense and three total touchdowns for the Bolts in their 19-9 win over Kathleen.

QB Walter “Tre” Simmons, Oakleaf – 11 of 18 for 227 yards passing and accounted for four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) in the Knights’ 41-13 win over Ridgeview.

RB Jalen Jeter, Forest Hill – Had 141 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Forest Hill in their 42-20 win over John I. Leonard.

CLASS 7A

RB Brian Battie, Sarasota – Rushed for 304 yards on 18 carries and scored five touchdowns in the Sailors’ 48-9 thrashing of Lemon Bay.

QB Breden Cyr, Wekiva – Went 13 of 26 passing for 205 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for one more touchdown in the Mustangs’ 44-7 win over Olympia.

RB Demarkcus Bowman, Lakeland – Rushed for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the Dreadnaughts’ 38-6 win over George Jenkins.

QB David Wright, Tampa Bay Tech – 14 of 23 passing for 228 yards and three touchdowns in the Titans’ 37-7 thrashing of Hillsborough.

RB Brian Taylor, Venice – Rushed for 176 yards on 33 carries, scoring two touchdowns in a 50-49 double-overtime win over Trinity Christian (Jacksonville).

CLASS 6A

QB Tony Bartolo, Gaither – 18 of 29 passing for 316 yards and threw four touchdowns in a 28-23 win over Plant City.

LB Khaya Wright, South Miami – The outside linebacker had nine tackles (two for loss), three sacks, forced two fumbles, three quarterback hurries and two pass breakups in the Cobras’ 35-0 win over Miami Beach.

RB Keon Anderson, Island Coast – Rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns in the Gators’ 29-0 win over Cape Coral.

RB Gregory Bullard, Washington (Pensacola) – Had 18 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-0 win over Pensacola.

LB Aubrey Burks, Auburndale – The linebacker collected eight tackles (two for loss), recovered two fumbles, forced one fumble, collected a sack, had one interception and scored two defensive TDS for the Bloodhounds in their 50-0 win over Pasco.

CLASS 5A

RB Johnny Richardson, Lake Wales – Scored four touchdowns while rushing 158 yards on 12 carries for the Highlanders in their 77-0 win over Haines City.

QB Jaylon Worsham, Wakulla – Threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns leading the War Eagles to a 35-21 victory over Mosley.

QB C.J. Shedd, Cypress Lake – Threw for 339 yards and three touchdowns for the Panthers in a major 27-25 upset of rival Fort Myers.

QB Anthony Richardson, Eastside – Passed for 267 yards and scored four total touchdowns (two passing and two rushing) in the Rams’ 46-40 win over P.K. Yonge.

QB Trent Townsend, Dunnellon – Went 9 of 15 passing for 181 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers’ 37-0 win over Crystal River.

CLASS 4A

QB Zachary Bohannon, American Heritage (Delray) – Went 16 of 21 passing for 356 yards and three touchdowns plus scored one more touchdown on the ground in the Stallions’ 42-9 victory over John Carroll.

QB Will Smiley, Bay – The freshman quarterback went 15 of 21 passing for 228 yards and threw the game-winning touchdown in the Tornadoes’ 21-14 win over North Bay Haven.

WR Keshawn Brown, Monsignor Pace – Had nine catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns in the Spartans’ 38-26 loss to Naples.

RB Billy Wallace, South Sumter – Seven carries for 137 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns in the Raiders’ 42-14 win over South Lake.

QB Gregory “Deuce” Spann II, Lakewood – Went 12 of 17 passing for 198 yards, throwing three touchdown passes and rushed for one more touchdown in the Spartans’ 43-0 win over Gibbs.

CLASS 3A

QB Zach Tanner, Discovery – 15 of 23 passing for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the Spartans’ 42-0 win over Tenoroc.

QB James Dailey, King’s Academy – 15 of 21 passing for 338 yards and threw five touchdowns in the Lions’ 56-26 win over North Broward Prep.

DL William Tippens, Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) – The defensive lineman had 11 tackles (three for loss), and three sacks in the Conquerors’ 50-49 double-overtime loss to Venice.

RB Waymond Jordan, Pensacola Catholic – Rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns in the Crusaders’ 50-14 win over West Florida.

WR Marcus Burke, Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) – Had 220 yards receiving on six catches and scored three touchdowns in the Conquerors’ 50-49 double-overtime loss to Venice.

CLASS 2A

QB Henry Austad, Foundation Academy – 21 of 39 passing for 379 yards and four touchdowns, plus adding a rushing touchdown in the Lions’ 40-18 thrashing of Bradenton Christian.

QB Brecht Heuchan, Maclay – 14 of 18 passing for 338 yards and four touchdowns in a 50-20 win over Wewahitchka.

QB Cole Gonzales, Oak Hall – 9 of 11 for 118 yards passing and one touchdown and rushed 15 times for 205 yards and five more touchdowns in the Eagles’ 46-8 win over Bishop Snyder.

RB Jared Grant, Aucilla Christian – Had 32 carries for 217 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns in the Warriors’ 33-14 win over St. Francis Catholic.

WR Deandre McCray, North Florida Christian – Had 139 yards receiving and scored three total touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving and one kickoff return).

CLASS 1A

RB Brandon Siples, Freeport – Rushed for 218 yards on 20 carries, but scored three different ways including two rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown and one kickoff return touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 43-28 road win over Pike Liberal Arts, Ala.

RB K’wan Powell, Vernon – Rushed for 317 yards on 23 carries and scored four touchdowns for the Yellowjackets’ 44-42 come from behind victory over Autauga Academy (Ala.).

RB Treven Smith, Blountstown – Rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers’ 37-16 win over Marianna.

LB Ke’shuan Mitchell, Madison County – Had 12 tackles (4.5 for loss), one sack and forced one fumble in the Cowboys’ 28-6 victory over Rickards.

RB Joe Brunson, Baker – Had 251 total offensive yards (212 rushing) and two total touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in the Gators’ 42-7 win over South Walton.

SSAC & INDEPENDENTS

QB Luke Greenman, All Saints Academy – The quarterback had 269 yards of total offense (169 passing, 100 rushing) and scored three total touchdowns in a 31-0 win over First Academy-Leesburg.

RB Levy Miller, Florida Christian – Rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots’ 43-0 shutout of Marathon.

QB Ty Poorman, Master’s Academy (Oviedo) – Threw for 411 passing yards and five touchdowns in the Eagles’ 38-14 win over Windermere Prep.

QB Jacob Golan, Dr. Krop – Had 275 yards passing and four touchdowns for the Lightning in their 42-12 win over Ferguson.

QB Jacob Worley, Legacy Charter – Threw for 215 yards passing and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 32-29 win over Santa Fe Catholic.
