Skinny: Both the Bloodhounds and the Braves are coming into this game picking up wins in their opening games of the season, both of which were shutouts. For Auburndale, they blanked Pasco 33-0 last week, but they played in a game that saw nearly two dozen penalties and a combined 19 fumbles, according to the Lakeland Ledger. The Bloodhounds used a rotating quarterback system last week going between Cam Sowder (2022) and Zach Tanner (2022), the later who threw the only touchdown pass of the game last week. Special teams also contributed to some of the scores last week but could be hard to replicate this coming week. For the host Braves, they are coming off an 82-0 win that saw scores coming in from all directions across the field. Sam McCall (2022) accounted for three touchdowns last week including one on the opening kickoff as well two touchdown passes. Jaylon Glover (2021) was also an effective game last week with 13 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown. McCall and Glover will be key guys once again this week, but likely won’t be facing the same situation where scores piled up quickly like last week given the opponent. And speaking of such… Auburndale is seeking revenge after two losses to Lake Gibson last year including an overtime loss in the regular season.
