  1. I live in Charlotte, NC and cover HS Football up here as well, but I still keep up with FLA football through film and such. I very well may come down if Aquinas makes it. Will keep you updated
  2. Flanagan for some reason reminds me of South Dade last season, Columbus has had good runs to the 3rd round in years past. When was the last time they were playing in the Semi-finals though? I have seen a good amount of film on both Columbus and Flanagan and I think this game will come down to Columbus' defense. Flanagan has an electric offense and even though they are without Bush they still have a very opportunistic defense. Columbus' defense will have to come and play like they have the last three games and really all year. If they do Columbus will be playing next week in Orlando it is as simple as that really. My pick though: Flanagan by 3. The Falcons get the job done and get to Orlando.
  3. He does run a great program. All I have heard is first class from people up in the JAX area. I agree the old one needed to go. Hopefully Aquinas can get there and I can try and travel down and see them win another title.
  4. Not shocking. Bolles vs Booker T for a 4th straight season. Will be a dandy next week in Orlando thats for sure!
  5. JB, I think the thing that helps Aquinas and other schools is a great administration. The admin at Aquinas lets the football guys run the football team. Today you see way too much of the admins getting involved. Aquinas leaves it to the coaches and Smith now the AD and they do a fantastic job!
  6. Much closer than I thought it'd be. I think that is a testament to how good Cocoa is more than anything else. If they are returning 90% of their starters from this season then it wouldn't shock me to see them maybe MAKE a title game next season. Great season for Cocoa they took one of the toughest teams in the country down to the wire. 0-0 at half. How many teams have done that to Booker T in the last 7-10 years? NOT MANY!
  7. Pulling for the Conquerors here JB! They shall conquer AH-D and once again lift the trophy and enjoy more rings. What a great program up there in Jacksonville!
  8. Who won the Bolles/Madison County game. I have not seen a score for that.
  9. Looking forward to it JB40! Will start a thread for it later today. That is going to be a WAR!
  10. If STA did not lose to DBP earlier in the season they would be in the hunt for the "National Title". .Aquinas has some amazing play makers and to me pretty good coaching as well. I would take the Raiders vs East Lake and that is no disrespect to East Lake they are good. Aquinas though has several players who have played in these kinds of big games and players that know what it takes to win. The coaching staff is also used to this having some of the guys dating back to the early days with George Smith. I think Aquinas will take 7A this season, but you never know. The games are played for a reason.
  11. As am I! Might be able to make it down there for that one. Will keep you updated on that though.
  12. It is certainly a lot deeper in othe parts of the state, but where Aquinas has their first three games it is not very deep. Aquinas beat Plantation 38-6 but really had no problem with them. They get Royal Palm Beach now then should they win that they get East Lake who is VERY VERY good.
  13. My boy Corky breaking it down after a W vs Raines.....looks fun! lol
  14. This thread title though could not be more right. Same can be said for whoever they play. Both Killian and Belen seem to be quietly good this season.
  15. JTC can be beat that is for sure. Wouldn't shock me to see AH-D beat them either. Any one of those 4 teams mentioned in this thread can win it all truthfully.
  16. Belen and Columbus I think is a rivalry too if I am not mistaken. Although Columbus dominates it, it is a rivalry
  17. I agree on the Trinity Christian/Trinity Catholic winner goes to Orlando. I would pick Clearwater Central Catholic right now as my early favorite to get to Orlando, but would not shock me to see AH-D get there either. Who does CCC and AH-D play in the 2nd round?
  18. Wow impressive! Who will they face in the 3rd round? Winner of what game? Never even realized Columbus was that good cause Coral Gables is an up and coming team and no pushover at all.
  19. I agree. Wiley is a very good coach in my opinion and you do have a point on the strength of schedule. I will be keeping an eye on that Cocoa game as well. I think Cocoa has a pretty good team this season, but sadly I think Booker T Washington has their third straight title at least in their sights.
  20. Wish they were Miami bound . I think their program started up in 2004 as well. Excellent accomplishment for the young men and their school!
  21. I have to agree with this. Maybe make the privates play up a class? I know Aquinas could be in 8A and be totally fine with no problems. Bolles is a great school they would be fine in 5A. You can go on and on. Gibbons in 6A etc.
  22. Awesome and congrats to them! Has Monarch ever had anyone from their school go to that game before? If so I cannot remember.
  23. I know it is a little bit of a different topic, but South Florida has such great football all throughout the year. In your opinions what teams are up and coming. They did not have to make the playoffs this year or be playing right now, but what teams do you think are on the rise in the Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe county area?
  24. I remember hearing about that transfer. Glad to see him doing well over at Coral Springs! I think and this is not a knock on Flanagan at all but if Coral Springs' defense was a bit better I think that game is a nail biter down to the wire. I do agree though they have been underrated all season long.
