  1. I also would consider Vero Beach a top 10 team in 4S I would say same for Treasure Coast, I don't think you fully realize how good the teams who beat them are
  2. Okay go schedule STA and stay within 14 points oh wait Vero only schedules teams from Broward and Dade who will only travel because Vero don't want to play a road game in SFL Also they did beat Martin County by 21 points, how did Vero do in that game?
  3. Absolutely In fact they dominated a good Martin County team that beat Vero Beach and nearly won the district title over them If they had gotten into the playoffs every team in the region would have been potentially facing the most dangerous 8 seed in the state of Florida
  4. Yeah and when does Vero plan to return that trip to Chaminade?
  5. Yeah they are basically Lakeland but with less state titles Though Treasure Coast has more respect on a state level because they are more willing to take on state powers home or away, I can't name the last time Vero Beach TRAVELED to Broward or Dade for a regular season game
  6. I don't think Vero Beach realizes how many great teams are out there because they don't put half the effort into facing top level competition that some teams including Treasure Coast do If Vero had to play Chaminade or STA they would be shell shocked from the sudden jump in competition from the Fort Peirce Westwood's of the world and probably get running clocked before they even realize how good their opponent is
  7. STA didn't blow them out so I seriously doubt Vero would If that's the case you all should beat everyone in 4S playoffs by 21 points
  8. Maybe in the preseason it's worth considering just because typically a team like STA or Miami Central are safe picks but this late in the year? Absolutely not That's why I say that things like star rankings, past season results, program consistency, coaching success, etc are considered in the preseason but once games start the only thing I look at is how they perform in their game resume and on field results That's why in early weeks my rankings tend to have significant shifts but slow down later on the year (for example outside of the pending Sanford Seminole vs Apopka game tonight) there has been no losses in my top 25 and outside of the loser of that game dropping there will be very little touching the top 25 this week I don't think anything outside of season production should be considered in rankings this late in the year
  9. Pedigree or not this isn't a great bulls team This is the common mistake and exactly why the people on that "Prep Gridiron board" can NEVER keep up with me or rank half as good as me in Florida rankings If it's not a team they have heard of they think they suck, the reality is a NAME doesn't mean they are a great team in the CURRENT season. People thought MNW should have been top 10 in my poll in preseason because of the BULLS BRAND and I never bought it because I saw they still aren't the dominant bulls on paper they would need to be to win with their staff and 4 losses to date including being smashed by Central, homestead and Chaminade proves it As for what you said about Chaminade, if STA went and beat MNW by the margin Chaminade did you would be saying that STA should be number 2 in the country behind IMG, I don't care if STA and Chaminade play but it would have been an interesting matchup this year Chaminade resume to date is better than STA and has earned being ranked higher
  10. I'm aware but the reality is the top teams in 1R could compete with the top teams in 1S but they are so resistant to change and are doing anything they can to game the system to easily make the playoffs than act like they would beat the real powerhouses
  11. Maybe but I would rather trust the FHSAA than trust the state government to run it
  12. Why is Miami Central included in this? Central is in 2M not 4M
  13. I would gladly take the RPI because at least then we could have some transparency
  14. Lincoln isn't even that country Much different vibe at Madison or Columbia
  15. Welp I did tell people up here in Lake City the last few weeks Dillard would beat Lincoln and now I wonder if any Lincoln players could face suspension heading into the postseason
  16. All the more reason to have wild cards and not give someone a playoff spot by virtue of being the second best team in one of the worst districts in the state of Florida classification era
  17. I didn't say it discouraged games from happening I said that it makes the games COMPLETELY WORTHLESS If beating Ridgeview means more about getting a home game than beating TCA than the system is COMPLETE SHIT District games should matter but I will never support a system that makes the non conference games have NO impact on the playoffs like before where we could beat state ranked teams but still travel to a shit 4-6 Lincoln team we already beat just because "their district was on the host side that season" Screw that shit and I hope it stays buried forever
  18. Columbia volleyball definitely had a good season but it wasn't enough to make playoffs because they lost several games that could have gotten them in as a wild card and I accept that I still like seeing them above .500 and going an upwards direction
  19. Columbia isn't gonna run from playing Bolles in previous or current system That's what makes us different than Suwannee and if the game has no impact on the postseason that means we gain nothing by beating teams but some team playing all pushovers gets the same credit for winning district and could host us in the playoffs even if we go and beat Bolles and TCA so why is that a BENEFIT I don't give a damn about Columbia beating up on the garbage clay and Duval teams that are only good when they get 20 transfers and those matchups are always snooze fests to watch I rather play top teams and have high risk high reward rather than say "well you beat a state champ but it's just a non conference game so you still gotta earn your spot in the playoffs by beating 2-8 Orange Park" Yeah I really have interest in watching an ex power that can't keep up, NOT
  20. Every team in the district is terrible so a bad team was going to the playoffs no matter what But could you imagine how bad it would be if TWO teams from this district were guaranteed a playoff spot
  21. Interesting I thought they threw a provision in there that district champs host a wild card in round 1
  22. No they changed it this year badbird District champs would host a wild card round 1 if seeded against them but it's possible for 2 district champs to be seeded against each other For example say Dillard is #2 in region, they face #7 seed, if that #7 seed in round 1 is a district champ they would travel, If it's a wild card then Dillard would host So if Ely was the #7 seed but district champ they would travel round 1 but after round 1 it's highest seed overall hosting If they get wild card Piper at #7 for example than Dillard would host Piper round 1
  23. Well they could do 6 classes with the current format Merge 1S and 1R together Turn 2,3 and 4S info 2 classes combined Take 1-4M and merge into 3 total classes So then it's 3 suburban/rural classes and 3 metro for 6 total and less classes can make larger districts and maybe even going to 3 districts per region would help
  24. And just how exactly would you force teams outside of the districts to play each other? Maybe we should have teams like say Suwannee told they MUST play Columbia due to proximity otherwise they forfeit any playoff consideration Maybe do same for Fort White too You aren't getting that not every county is centrally scheduled like Tampa and most counties have no way to force one team to play another so how exactly would that work If they went to 3 teams per district and had champs and runner ups they would have 6 teams and could do 2 wild cards based on whatever they want and maybe even do seeing based on RPI I would be Perfectly fine with that
  25. I have no problem with larger districts But 181pl also is someone who wants to completely take the value out of non conference games by 1) making only district games count for playoff standings and 2) remove seeding entirely If they ever move football back to only district games having importance than I will not even bother going to any non conference game ever again because it would be a waste of time and money to go watch a game that doesn't count for shit I would love to know that us beating Suwannee could eventually come back and cost Suwannee a playoff spot or beating Gainesville can cost them a playoff spot in a non conference game It adds value to those matchups when they impact the playoff field
