  1. Nice!!!

An update about Crestview, well, every since the boys lost to Christian Brothers... they have been in a slump. Now the record is 1-1 in district, losing to a Fort Walton squad. Lots of turnovers and little things aren't being done which killed them in the games. I think these issues will pass, and the boys will be back on fire! Current record is 11-5 overall, 1-1 district.

  2. CONGRATS bro awesome season so far i see that you guys are ranked number 9 in 6A great win.

Yea, thanks! Dillard is doing great I see!

    We stopped Milton 49-65.

Lost to Christian Brothers by 49-50.

    10-2 overall!

Christian Brothers is undefeated still, 14-0. They have blown out opponents 30+ points and Christian is ranked 5th in Tennessee overall, but it's a good match!

  3. A RIVALRY MATCH UP IT WAS!!

               Choctaw 59     -      65  Crestview

It was a great game all around, Choctaw showed up and they are a tough opponent, but Crestview holds them off. It went into overtime at 56-56!!! And Crestview came up! This was a key district game and now Crestview is 1-0 in the district!

  4. Crestview 52 -  46 Walton

Can't comment on game tonight, I'm a broke college student and I'm saving for Star Wars. But, it's great to see Crestview stopping Walton who is a 4A or 5A team. They're a small school, but they do good in basketball. A good victory overall.  I will for sure be going to 12/17 game when Choctaw comes to town, it's going to be a HEATED RIVALRY MATCHUP!!!!!

  5. It's hard to keep up with all these bracket switches lol.

I believe we play Pensacola before the Christmas break at their house, that is going to be a great match. They are playoff consistent.

Gainesville is the team I think we will have trouble with in regional semifinals or regional finals, only thing I know about Gainesville is their football team is pretty good going to state every other year. The last 5 years, only one team from the Northwest made it to state... that was Pine Forest who lost to Norland in 2013. I do think Crestview has a shot, Gainesville is beatable, Pensacola beat them a year or two ago in the playoffs. Norland is the Central Miami of 6A. Going to state and winning every year, do you think Dillard could take them out?

  6. LOL I feel you on that I see that you guys and blanche ely is in the same district it would be epic if you guys matched up in the playoffs. we play them prime time Saturday night @ home in the panthers den so you already know what time it is both teams dislike each other this rivalry have been going on for generations and it will be standing room only so I cant wait.

Yea, I think Osceola as well.

Oviedo has always beat us in regional finals, but I think this squad has what it takes since the PG has improved and we have more shooters than before.

  7. Congrats bro sound like it was a very exciting game im rooting for you guys this season good job on the win keep it up. And keep posting your team results and there record and player stats.

Thanks man! Freshman D put up 27 points and was called on since our star PG had to bench due to getting two fouls within the first minutes of the second half!! I'm really excited to see the district games, I'd go to tonights game against Walton, but I'm saving cash right now lol

  8. that was unbeilivable, so how come it was a 29 year losing streak, was it just talent being too much of a gap or were niceville just more prepared to play each game

Talent, and more prepared... coach Hicks has been at it for 30+ years with the Niceville program.

Niceville actually is right next to the air force base here, and some of my teachers always believedNiceville recruited the best kids in the county under the radar. Most of the time though, when a kid moves here he has the choice of several different high schools. If football is your game, you will congregate to Niceville. One of my friend's friends did his freshman year here at Crestview and then transferred to Niceville to play basketball because he thought it would be a better opportunity since when I was a sophomore and freshman, we had a not so good coach ever who didn't care about the game (I don't mean to be mean, the guy was an awesome science teacher, and I felt like he was just thrown into basketball because no one else was qualified enough to coach). Same thing happened to another kid, the last coach didn't help the program much and that kid went to Choctaw to get a better opportunity.

But, it was not technically 29 years I should mention. The teams got reclassed into different classes and districts, last time we played them was in the 80s, and throughout we may have played them once or twice and lost. But 2007 was when it changed and we started playing Niceville on a consistent basis, the only time we came close to winning was 2010 when Niceville got by with a single point.

Like any rivalry there have been the things kids do to show their support. When I was at Crestview, Niceville actually stained the field with a certain material that killed the grass and they shaped it like a certain organ lol. The other thing that happened was a social media rumor that everyone at Crestview high likes to do things to a goat. And there have been rap songs that tried to dis us.

Back in the 80s, my english teacher said we went to Niceville, picked up their eagle from outside the school and threw it in the closest river. While Niceville did the same thing with our bulldog.

Overall, that was a special moment to witness Niceville losing for the first time in 30 or so years. Although, they went to state and lost to Dwyer that year.

  9. NAVARRE 51 - CRESTVIEW 59

Navarre Raiders came to town, and I checked out the game. I saw there was a 6' 1" player, but I found out he was a freshman which made me think "WOW" in my head, he has potential to grow and become a deadly player, much like Oviedo's 6' 8" player. (I think he is a senior now).

First half ended Navarre 24-20, but Crestview came back and showed the Raiders what the Bulldogs are about. Not sure about the passing game and some of the stuff the Bulldogs did, but being coach Stakley's first year as head coach, he is leading the program by charge and I think was the right coach to hire, but he is really going to be tested when playoffs come especially against Lincoln, Niceville, and Oviedo. The seniors and juniors are showing what they're about, but the freshman is also keeping up! Crestview came back and stopped Navarre 51-59. A good victory overall and Navarre is a tough opponent despite their mediocre record. Revenge is served!

I don't know box score for this game, but I saw on box for last night's game against Bay. The freshman D put up 15 pts! with 5 free throws and 5 shots!
