I was told Port Charlotte has a stud at nose tackle. Hardee is breaking in a brand new offensive line. This was the first varsity start for all 5.

Unfortunately I had to work. From the second hand accounts I'm getting it sounds like a spring game. Both teams made big plays and looked awesome one minute followed by embarrassing mistakes the next. Hardee was down 40-13 at one point but fought back.

No, I saw that the coach was suspended then reinstated not long afterwards. That's BS! I feel the coach should take full responsibility and be the one held accountable. The players do what they are told and for that reason I wouldn't ban Northwestern from the playoffs or require then to be penalized past this year. In the mid-2000s Immokalee won the state championship. It was found out afterwards they had an ineligible player. Immokalee was banned from the playoffs the following season which they went undefeated. Many, including myself, felt the players were punished for something they had nothing to do with.

That would be excessive. Punishment should always fit the offense. Coach should be suspended for the season or something like that.

Covid isn't relevant. Northwestern was conducting practice before it was authorized. Even if there was no covid it would still be a rules violation.

You're correct, the truly elite teams have talent, size, speed, depth and great coaching. However I've seen really talented teams rely too much on that talent and get beat by less talented teams because they get out coached.

Upper class schools playing against a 1a school creates a dilemma; lose to a 1a school and no matter how good the 1a school is, you suck. Beat a 1a school, then you're a bully. They do little to help prepare you against top teams in your own class. If you have one that is a rival on your schedule every year, the fans and alums want to keep, but you drop them for the above reasons, now your scared. Bad situation no matter what.

Here's our schedule so far: 9/5 - Port Charlotte 9/11 - @ Fort Meade 9/18 - Clewiston 9/25 - Avon Park 10/2 - @ Lake Region 10/9 - Lake Gibson 10/16 - @ Lake Wales 10/23 - bye 10/30 - Sebring 11/6 - @ Desoto

When they were 5a they were in a somewhat weak district that they won consistently. No knock on Lakewood. They did make a few playoff runs.

Lakewood was 5a for a long time

Hardee has a bye week on 10/23. So far we have a 9 game schedule with 5 home games. Don't know if coach Kemp would be willing or not but we did have Vero scheduled before all this. Not a long drive. We last played Venice in 1988.

Hardee vs Clewiston 9/18!

Only one high school in my county as well as one neighboring county and another neighboring county only has 3. Opting In seems like the only way to have any kind of season. Large counties have enough schools they only need to play one another.

Any info on whether or not private schools in South Florida are going to opt in? I'm assuming AHP and STA will be in which is good. Any news if Columbus, Belen Jesuit, or Pace are doing likewise? And are they having to replace a lot of the public schools?

So back to why I created this thread; it appears that Hardee will no longer be playing North Marion as well as not playing Vero Beach as was originally scheduled.
