FLFB reacted to BrowardHandicapper in All state top 25 preseason
I am not that high on Flanagan and Miramar, but I could definitely see Flanagan/Miramar upsetting a team like Deerfield Beach before Delray Atlantic could. For me Flanagan is probably knocking at the top 25 door. Delray Atlantic took a huge hit also. But you are right..Flanagan only returns TWO starters from last years team, and have a JV QB coming up (I heard Samuells III was basically only going to be playing DB this year). Supposedly they are pretty stacked at WR including a transfer from Mater and Carol City. Miramar still has athletic depth and are sick of being in the passengers seat in that District of late. Regarding Boca Raton, they are just one of those teams that is very well coached and plays consistent football. They remind me a little of Cypress Bay a few years back. (Not the year they went to states). Just one of those teams that good teams underestimate and wind up in dogfights with them. They played Delray Atlantic tough twice last year and their best wins were versus PB Gardens twice and Pahokee. I think Boca Raton could definitely win that District over Delray Atlantic in 2016.
South Dade is way down and Coral Gables is down.

forgot about PB gardens, looking forward to seeing what they do this year. You still high on Miramar and Flanagan this year? I feel they have lost a little too much. Also I don't get the hype over Boca Raton, they didn't really beat anybody of note last year or do anything special, did they get a bunch of transfers or something I am unaware of?

They have 13 players with D1 offers. Offensively they have (for the first time in school history) a legit D1 QB, a 4* rb, a 3* rb backing him up, and 3 D1 wr's (the QB from last year is switching to his natural position at slot). 1 D1 OLineman, 2 stud D1 DLineman, 2 D1 LBs, and 2 D1 db's. Name another team in 6A north that will be able to match their talent? Also none of the Armwood teams the last 3 years had close to that. It's still not as good a MC's, but it is vastly better than any of the Armwood teams the last 4 years
And 2014 btw it was a 17-10 game vs MC with less than a minute to go, hardly getting crushed. (that Armwood team had 5 guys with D1 offers, they have 13 this year including a real QB)
Armwood has been light years better than the rest of the north, even their garbage 2013 team (they only had like 3 or 4 guys with D1 offers) sleepwalked through it into that 13' MC buzzsaw
What makes you think Vanguard and PF are suddenly gonna hyper improve from the teams the past few years to better than this years Armwood team which will be stacked with talent?

I'm high on their talent this year
I think a lot of people are overrating Mainland this year based on reputation. I'm expecting them to regress, their cupboard is the thinnest its been in years. They graduated 4 key pieces last year and their 2017, 18, and 19 classes aren't that special. Their only bona fide stud is Fagan
Carol City brings back a lot of talent, much more than Mainland. Losing buckshot hurts, but having Camron Davis in the backfield softens that loss. Armwood brings back virtually everybody and will have easily their most stacked team since their 15-0 2011 team, in addition they received a transfer D1 QB this offseason who is legit and probably the first real QB not just ATH Armwood has ever had.
I think Mainland is firmly #4 this year imho
