  1. Vero played PB Central up to just 2 years ago they where like a 4 win team, last year a lot of new scheduling happened then PB Central started playing better. Most scheduling is done 2 years at a time some schools are always for the most part solid programs in and out due to coaching and geographic location of talent, others not so much. There was no way knowing 2 years ago Central was all of a sudden supposed to be this improved ya know. However though I would of liked to seen PB Gardens, Palm Bay some teams that are usuallly solid remain on our schedule instead of Westwood or Krop.

  2. I’d give it 2 years before we really see the upswing back with UF. Once Mullen starts getting his recruits and type of guys into his system and his ways think they’ll start regaining some swagger. He’s playing with McElwains guys right now, they don’t know how to be physical, his system, or even just how to be winners. Hopefully they’ll give Mullen’s a few years to right the ship, his offense was proven to win/score in the past here at UF just needs his type of players.

I mentioned this earlier in another thread I understand the revenue aspect Josh needs but it just went full screen on me as well randomly trying to reply to this thread 4X! Seems extreme to me, like I will use this site regardless but for new guys maybe coming to check it out if they can’t view the content then they might not come back. And for me at least I have to exit out of the tab and reopen the forum page can’t just press back. Usually these types of ads.

  4. 1. What about schools and coaching changes how they have positively and negatively impacted the programs.

    2. Players/Famous people  you probably had no idea where from or played at FL schools and their back story IE Khalil Mack- Ft Pierce Westwood, Trey Burton- Venice, or “Larry the Cable Guy” Berean Christian also a big time supporter of the school.

    Just some thoughts I had...

Both, we only have one td WR and the running game still not as strong and the front seven can't handle the run yet

Cuff is still a complimentary WR2 right now though Harris is hard to stop with both speed and strength it’s like Atlanta they got Julio and then complimentary guys who do enough. Running game looked a lot better tonight a 35 yard run in the 2nd qtr and over 100 yards rushing in the first half. Not bad numbers considering they started putting second string guys in the 2nd qtr. What scares me is the backups they looked sloppy once given the chance on offense. Defensively the backups looked good a couple turnovers and a pick 6.

  6. I personally don’t agree with it, my dad wouldn’t let me play if I had a C in any class. This lets them play even if their in a deferred program they’re still being rewarded for failing. Bust your ass in a classroom if your failing and take a year off it’ll make them appreciate playing that much more the next year.

No need to be cocky winners though

“Did you even see Vero vs Viera last week? Your offense is complete trash, your running game is non existent and your defense is the worst I’ve ever seen from a Vero Beach squad. You guys looked silly out there. Venice’s-defense forced 8 turnovers against Plant last week, and we have a running back that will eat your defense alive. His name is Brian Taylor and  he’s one of  the best RBs I’ve ever seen. The Venice passing game is also very solid and our new QB looks great. I’m sorry to say but your 4 year regular season game winning streak is about to come to a screeching halt next week.”

Thats your quote plus many others saying how your going to win Veros streak ends tonight etc etc.

You’d be all over this board posting if Venice won and you know it. Let him be happy and don’t be a sore loser, you were pretty cocky yourself. Pot calling the kettle black.

  8. Come on now everyone had Venice usually by a couple scores now let’s not water them down that Vero beat them big. Vero took a minute to get going but made adjustments and were the better team tonight. Venice played good in the first half  looked tired in the second, Veros conditioning program has always been a strength for the team and it look like it showed tonight. Need to clean up the penalties some were warranted others seemed iffy. Regardless nice to start out 1-0 on the road against a team like Venice.

Doesn’t surprise me, I quit sitting over there a long time ago, during a playoff game in ‘89 or ‘90 I think. Manatee had come over for a playoff game (they won the state title that year vs Southridge) and Vero fans were calling them the Bradenton Manatees and couldn’t figure out why they had hurricane warning flags on their helmet, I TRIED to explain that their mascot was the hurricanes and who Manatee was and their history. Their response was that it made no sense because the hurricanes wear green and orange and had a U on their helmet.

Any real knowledgeable Vero football fan sits on the visiting side near the train horn which is also home seating.

I grew up watching the games sittin in the metal stands under the announcers booth with my dad, always had his NY Giants foldable chair he sat on, listening to ChristianFM on his Walkman to get the radio call, amazing memories! The train horn was awesome as a little kid!

Drogo did you attend Vero too? If so probably new my dad, Coach C aka Mr Colontrelle?

  10. Tight End threw me off for a second because he didn’t play it in the pros for my favorite team (Go Pats!!! Ps Favorite team since the early 90s when they stunk, was actually irritated I was a Bledsoe guy and wasn’t happy they benched him healthy for Brady lol)

Bryan Stork should be the last one, forgot but remembered they did it a few years ago. Maybe during a homecoming game I think had an on field celebration he brought Vero one of the awards the NFL give high schools if their players win a SuperBowl.

My dad coached for Sebastian and Vero I grew up going to the games, and him telling me stories from the past so I’d like to think I have somewhat of a good knowledge of the team. Livings wanted him to be one of his assistants again when I played but he was done with the FL heat lol

Not to put you on the spot young man, but......some extra credit for you Mr Trelle.:)

Who is the only player(s) from Vero to ever have his jersey retired?

I believe it was Kenny Holmes, but I could also see it being possibly Gary Parrish, he’s still a living legend around Vero.

And yes sir I was playing back then I think I remember that game but it’s been a little bit lol. The game against Wellington I remember is the year before when the Palm Beach Post predicted us to finish last and we wound up going undefeated and locked up the district against Wellington because my former line coach (and great man) Coach Ahrens agrees to shave his head if we won the game and we wound up shaving it in the end zone at Wellington
