This is the most points they have allowed the whole season in all honesty I was never sold on Oscar anyways this game broke their 99 game district winning streak

Using your logic then your not sold on Cocoa since Rockledge beat them! Cmon man just embrace the fact your not a Vero fan...you’ve never said anything positive about them...so either you a Sebastian grad or just salty about something

Yes it is ion wanna see Vero play Gateway or Ridge again my prediction is Vero will be a second or third rd loser

Only team in Veros bracket I worry about the way it looks is Osceola...that’s gonna be a ball control good defense against spread offense and athletic defense

I'm not impressed with the offense I liked last year's much better and we will find out if Vero really have a good O this year for playoffs

It was the mike smith show! Shut him down rest of team couldn’t win...this team spreads the ball out much better...Smith was amazing receiver but his numbers show he was overutilized to the detriment of the rest of the offense

  4. As a Vero fan for the past 10 years I would like to give a honest opinion of this years team since it seems there is either cynicism or hysteria when describing there chances. This offense is different then in years past were we have relied on one really good WR and a bunch of secondary receivers this year we have no clear cut #1. We have used Dixon better than years past under coach J who I Felt had abandoned the run in a lot of games to throw more. Most seasons it seems our offense started the year really well and didn’t really progress any and relied on 5-7 plays continually until the playoffs were we found a defense that stopped our one big threat and keyed in on favorite plays and shut us down...Defense is where I believe this years team is different. In years past we’ve had a bend don’t break defense that relied on our offense to help put pressure on opponents offense to keep scoring. This years defense is the best front to back we’ve had under coach J..Reese up front Johnson in the middle and Granville in the secondary makes Veros defense a strength not a weak link..special teams under coach J has been good and bad we always seem to have a good kicker our punter is usually subpar and our punt and kickoff teams have been BAD! This year special team units phenomenally better than in years past. This coaching staff and team have also done a better job of dominating the teams they should and have beat good teams while not playing there best. I’m not gonna crown them but I would not bet against Vero at home first of all and this year I feel like we have a better chance against the Dr. Phillips and Miramar’s in 8a then in the past!

You must not live here a lot of rich white folks money go to this school

I must be one of the rich white people you talking about...stop being the stereotypical young black angry sounding thug and go other places in the state...most people that have money in vero are seasonal wanna see money go to palm beach

First off vero is a public school! It took over a year of fundraising to accomplish that trip alone! You may not be aware but school board approves the sports schedule of both vero and Sebastian during offseason that’s why in the 90s even vero convinced private big name schools and public to travel to vero! And since you seem to follow vero let me say I think the harder scheduling is step in right direction for vero and coach J has personally stated he doesn’t wanna schedule opponents that he may see in the playoffs so that eliminates most 8a powerhouses...also there was discussion with cocoa at least preliminary to get them on schedule in future as well as veira in a regular season game

    AHP

    STA

    MNW

    MC

    CC

    Columbus

    Miramar

    Deerfield

    Chaminade

Try those teams then Vero can say shit

Kinda like saying you shouldn’t be the champion in ncaa unless you play Alabama! Cmon man this is a public school you talking about that doesn’t have the money to travel around and play these schools...also you have a conference so there goes games right there...the playoffs are the measuring stick in high school football so they have to show there mettle then not in who the schedule in regular season

I don't know what your point is, but we didn't just beat Treasure coast, we shut them out 35-0. That was right after they beat the number one team in Region 2 Osceola. Our weak schedule includes:

    Vierra                           7A state power

    Oscar Smith                Virginia state power

    Pahokee                       Small school state power

Dr. Krop Miami            always a tough Miami team

Fort Pierce Central     has been one of the strongest teams in the past

    Fort Lauderdale           very tough schedule

Wellington                     won their first four games before losses

Treasure Coast            beat Osceola last year in playoffs

Olympic Heights          beat Dwyer this season

Sebastian River            in the playoffs last season

PSL Centennial           won their first 4 games

I really don't see any weak schedule here, actually its a very strong schedule.

Wellington lost starting QB for season

  9. Lincoln has an athletic quarterback that at times seems like the coach wants to make a pocket qb instead of an athlete...defense got decent pressure on Vero and decent against run but secondary was exposed by a Vero receiving core that has underperformed up till now

It was the first game in a month for Pahokee (week 2, bye and weeks 3/4 cancelled due to Irma). The kids hadn't practiced or been to school for 2 weeks and I'm sure they didn't do any tackling that one week of practice. I think that was Vero's third game, so they had more game experience...If you watched the game, Pahokee neutralized Vero's passing game (athlete vs athlete), no passing touchdowns. But they had success running the ball because of missed tackles and physicality...all things you lose when you're not playing or practicing (see FSU versus NC State)...28 points will be Vero's lowest point total this regular season.

I was at the game at here's my takeaway...passing much harder to do when timing is off from not playing or practicing...vero line weighs close to 300 lbs average and Dixon 235-245 himself...Pahokee had two big defensive tackles but not depth in the front line and vero just exerted bigger size and strength on smaller defense...I agree Pahokee has athletes at all levels and running anything to the outside not gonna work...Vero has been very successful running wildcat all season and I was surprised they didn't run it very much against Pahokee but it was probably due to Pahokees team speed

The secondary is the weakest link on the team, but it was expected. #1, corner (A. Dent) transferred to PB Central and the #2 and #3 corners graduated..One safety (D. Hampton) returned, while the other (D. Nelson) is playing QB, and since the backups are sophomores, the coaches dont use him on defense. PG Gardens kinda exposed the youth in the secondary last night.

The front 7 is nasty. If any team thinks they're just gonna line up and run the ball (option, veer, spread-option) its not gonna happen...PB Lakes and Boynton Beach had the athletes to run the spread-option and the d shut them down.

Didn't Akeem Dixon from Vero run for like 230 yards and a 10 plus yard for carry average against that front 7?
