  1. That was before my time. I will take your word for it.
  2. From what I can remember about the game, it was well officiated. I do remember two pass-interference calls on NSB on the last drive as Central Daulphin East was moving the ball to make the score a little closer. I also remember a Cuda DB making a great PBU in the end zone on the last play of the game even though a touchdown would have only made the final score 17-12.
  3. I remember in 2009 to around 2014, that message board was really going strong. The South Florida posters leaving the board really had an effect. I wonder whatever happened to OU112?
  4. The team that Coach Maronto, as the Head Coach at New Smyrna Beach, beat from Pennsylvania was Central Daulphin East 17-6, in the 22nd Annual Rotary Bowl at Longwood Lyman High School the day before Thanksgiving in 1995.
  5. The Memphis Southmen played in the WFL, although the owner of the team, John Bassett, also owned the Tampa Bay Bandits in the USFL.
  6. I understand why he was fired. Coaches need to set an example for their players, and obviously Coach Maronto did not set the proper example in that instance. My point was that that one incident, which I personally do not find to be a big issue at all, should not overshadow all of the good that the man did for many people for many years, including for me personally. I still remember having a conversation with Coach Maronto about Woody Hayes, and he explaining to me that all that Coach Hayes accomplished at Ohio State should not be discounted because he punched a Clemson player who intercepted a
  7. Peezy, I might ask you and Perspective to wear name tags to tell the difference between the two of you. lol
  8. Sex between two consenting adults does NOT bother me. High School Football Coaches who yell, scream, and even curse the whole game at officials does bother me. High School Football Coaches who are not able to set a proper example for the young players who they are charged with leading by staying in control of their emotions does bother me. To answer your question, NO Coach Maronto never cursed at me, but he did teach me a lot about the game of football, and life in general.
  9. Thank you Perspective, I need to open my eyes, and pay attention more. I have heard that you even fill in at work for Peezy from time to time, and the boss hasn't caught on yet lol.
  10. CURSED? CURSED? You really want to discuss cursing, why don't we talk to you about your hero Rick Darlington? Coach Maronto could have retired many years ago, but he cared about his players as human beings first, football players second. Coach Maronto is doing just fine, and he is still involved with the game of football.
  11. Thank you for sharing that with the message board. That still doesn't erase all of the good that the man did for many years for many people.
  12. That is John Maranto, who was the Head Coach at Mainland, Marimar, and New Smyrna Beach. Coach Maranto won a state title at Mainland in 2003, to this day the only state title in high school football for Volusia County. Also, he was the Head Coach for a very valued, important, and rumored good looking poster to this message board in high school. lol
  13. It looks like I mixed up Perspective and Peezy28. I didn't realize that it was Peezy that sent me the message about the senile old man, not Perspective. I guess the P messed me up. lol
  14. I am telling you this because I have decided to do you a favor I know how much that you enjoy hearing from me, and I am adding to your enjoyment. You're welcome.
  15. Thank you HornetFan. Yes Pop Warner Football realized that their organization had to ease up on some restrictions to be able to "compete", for lack of a better word, for these young players who were starting to play for other leagues.
  16. Perspective, I asked the man a simple question after he made a big deal criticizing the Floyd of Rosedale trophy awarded to the winner of Iowa and Minnesota, and not only did he refuse to answer my question, he called me every insult he could think of. All I wanted to know was if Ohio State had a 'trophy" game that they played with another Big 10 team, and he just went off on me. At that point, I figured that was my time to retire from that message board, and I haven't visited there since.
  17. Thank you HornetFan, do you know what dates this league finished out their season? Pop Warner Football had eased up on weight restrictions recently as an incentive to get more kids out to play for that league.
  18. Lol, I was thinking about you when I typed that out! Your welcome.
  19. HornetFan, is the CFYFL an 8-on-8 football league. Also, on what fields and cities/towns does the league play it games? Thank you.
  20. No problem, and you will find a lot of great perspectives on this message board Silver King.
  21. Welcome to this message board Silver King. It is great to have you contributing, and the Huddle just got a great new addition.
  22. Silver King has finally joined this message board? This is a very exciting development, but I just hope that the senile old man doesn't decide to join my good message board friend from Charlotte.
