  1. Which is why you can NEVER overlook ANY playoff opponent, no matter how “inferior” they may look on paper. One bad night in the playoffs means that your dreams of a state championship are 88 and out the gate!
  2. That’s terrific news sir, and agree even more with your assessment that having a coach with fire is important to moving forward. Slow progress is always better than no progress and you will never beat a team like STA while staying in neutral. Looking forward to your collision with STA and fingers crossed for a round 2, preferably with the Panthers smashing STA’s 20 year home playoff winning streak to pieces!! Go Panthers!
  3. Agree with you. We have had MORE than our fair share of transfers this year. Something like 9 or 10 already. Insane. If there was ever a Venice team that could have beaten STA in a playoff game, either this upcoming 2023 squad or 2021 would have been the candidates to do it. Hope Dillard beats them but it’s going to be tough. Your offense has to do a better job of helping your defense stay off the field. No more silly turnovers or going 3-and-out in under a minute of game time. Protect the ball and score every time you have the opportunity to do so. Your defense is more than capable of keeping you in it and have proven this in 2 meetings already. But it’s almost impossible to stop STA’s offense IF Dillard barely even has time to get a drink before they have to run back to the field. Have to do a better job protecting the ball to have a chance.
  4. If SJB loses their first game to Mater Dei but comes back to beat them in a playoff game, or vice-versa, both MD and SJB would end their season with one loss. Assuming both IMG and SFA lose a game somewhere, Central beats Gorman, runs the table, and finishes perfect, Central would be the only team in the running without a loss. Now, of course, those are a whole heap of assumptions, but Central could theoretically hurdle MD if this scenario plays out.
  5. With Gorman on the schedule, just run the table and it would be impossible to deny Central the unanimous national championship. Most polls have that West Coast bias that will only crown Gorman, Mater Dei, or SJB national champions. A win against Gorman could shake that up.
  6. That’s true now but we’re not like this every year. For all of our overall successful seasons, we have only 3 state championships. Last year Venice would have gotten their heads beaten in by 24+ points by Homestead, STA, Central, etc. because our offense was almost completely anemic. This year’s Venice team should win 4S with relative ease. And for the record, the name STA makes Venice folk need a diaper change. Lol
  7. Central has had probably the best off-season of any team in the state so far. How do you improve on fielding your best team in school history? By reloading, of course! From listening to social media, some people think this could be Central’s best squad in history, even better than last year’s team. They’ve gotten 3 high level transfers from California, 2 from Texas, something like 8 in state and they are absolutely loaded to the brim. Armondo Blount has the potential to be even better than Ruben Bain. They return 2 defensive linemen that had experience last year. Their quarterback room is probably the best they’ve ever had. 2 starting linebackers return and 2 of their corners return. But someone like @MC Rockets or @cribboy305 would definitely have more insight into this than myself. The bottom line? It’s scary to think how good Central will be. I don’t think BTW will beat them but the return of Coach Ice the score could very well be within 17. Lots of exciting games in SOFLO this year.
  8. I like BTW to go 8-2, The West and Central as the two teams that beat them. Coach Ice has them moving back into power for sure.
  9. You can BULLieve it’s gonna be a great season for the West!
  10. From what I’ve seen on social media, The West will have 3 guys on their offensive line who bench press in excess of 400 lbs. That’s insane!! Those young guys in your secondary are gonna have to step up a bit And prove your defense is from the same mold as last year. But I like MNW’s running game to be even better this year. No injuries to start the season will definitely help them.
  11. Charles Lester “encouraged” him to come over.
  12. A warm welcome to Mr. Zycarl Lewis Jr. to the Venice Indians!
  13. Dillard’s defense has kept them in both of their last two meetings with STA. Their offense needs to do a better job of taking care of the ball and pouncing on STA’s mistakes (as few as they may be) whenever they can. Also, special teams play have killed Dillard against STA. Need to have better coverage from their kicking team to avoid starting inside their own 20.
  14. Alright. Gonna be a great game. You can bet The West will play a closer game than last year…
  15. Thank you sir! It’s time for Dillard to take down STA too!
  16. This is great, but I’m a little bit confused. Are you sure that Chaminade vs Miami NW isn’t a preseason game instead of week 1? Vero Beach’s official schedule has The West traveling to take on VB week 1.
  17. The West better be ready for a dog fight. This will be a very far cry from the Venice team your Bulls saw last season. In 2023 Venice is fielding: Their best offensive line in school history. Most experienced running back room in school history. Extremely solid QB duo in transfers Jadyn Glasser and Ryan Downes. The return of all 3 of our starting linebackers from last season. The return of Ryan Matulevich, Jackson Scott, Ashari Charles, and Adam Papantonakis at receiver, as well as impact transfers Jayce Barksdale and Charles Lester. A very powerful secondary led by general consensus #1 corner in the class of 2024 Charles Lester, and the return of starters Charles Fleming and Deylen Platt. Defensive line without a linebacker playing DT. Led by IMG transfer Ryan Daly, one of the top DT prospects in the class of 2024 and David Galloway, who took some snaps at tackle last year before Kintigh returned. Venice is going to be a very tough customer. Best of luck to your Bulls CribBoy!
  18. Looks like ESPN is getting ready to pick up Venice @ Miami Northwestern week 3. The game has been moved to Saturday instead of Friday and will be played at 6:00 pm. Can't wait! @cribboy305 @Jullian @MC Rockets
  19. I don't have a dog in the hunt but I do think Central will take it.
  20. Naples suffered a major upset from Dunbar last season. But still, that will be a good game. Naples is always tough!
  21. Good schedule for Poinciana. Week 2 bye is the only thing I don’t like. That’s a horrible time for a bye week.
  22. I love the choice of opponents, but I hate the layout. Week 3 is way too early for a bye week. You should have played STA week 8 with a week 7 bye to give yourselves 2 weeks to prepare for them to win the district. Stranahan looks weak on paper and will be lucky to stay within 21 points of Dillard. Naples is a very intriguing matchup. They run slip halfback veer offense that can be very tough to defend. Naples will be more than content to throw only 2-4 passes a game to try to win. You make one mistake, they can take a whole quarter off of the clock. Cardinal Gibbons is a toss up. Miramar I see as being a 35-21 type of game. They will keep respectable for a half but your depth will take over. Boyd Andersen is weak. Easy Panther victory. CMD I see as a loss. Even at home with Dillard wanting revenge their talent will be too much. Plantation is sneaky good. Can’t fall into their trap and think they will be easy. Gonna have to bring everything you have to beat STA. This looks like a loss but anything could happen in a rivalry game. And of course, can’t overlook Blanch Ely. Don’t forget what happened last season. overall I see an 8-2 season for your panthers. STA and CMD being the two teams that beat you. Naples and CG are tossups that Dillard should win, but can’t ignore. Just wish you guys had a later bye week.
  23. Vero Beach, like last year, will not possess the physical maturity on its defensive line needed to challenge Osceola at the line of scrimmage and stop their fierce rushing attack. Their only hope at winning that region against your Kowboys is that their offense is able to get them to 35 points and their defense does just enough to hold you to 28. This is a dream. Treasure Coast is not dynamic enough offensively to score enough points to win a shootout. As long as your offense can get you 17 points in either of these meetings with TC (and lord knows they are far more than capable of doing so,) Osceola should be a strong favorite to win their region and meet Venice/Manatee/Lakeland/Buccholz etc. in round 4.
  24. Venice is hiring Denzel Nickerson to be their passing game coordinator/ assistant wide receiver coach.
