Venice and STA both won blowout games in round 3 tonight! They battle next week at STA! So my question to all fans is, who do you guys have winning this game, and what are your predictions? Should Venice be favored to win next week? I’ve got Venice winning by 7.

Don’t think Cocoa will agree to that. You’d be better off trying to play STA or a Miami team if you are to have a better chance at winning states next year. Once you prove you can beat Venice and STA consistently, you have an argument that you are battle tested and ready to play anyone on the road to states.

STA will win this one in a nail biter. The winner of Bloomingdale vs Venice will be an even tougher opponent for them.

We might play you guys in the playoffs next year if we move up to 8A. It’s gonna be a lot of fun, that’s for sure. Who do you have in mind for Vero to play next year?

Maybe. Venice at Vero Beach next year is going to be the match to see if it happens.

Venice will play Bloomingdale this week in football. Does anyone know much about them or any predictions for the game? I’ve got Venice by 21.

They can’t dominate the line of scrimmage like they have in the past. Their o-line just doesn’t have the muscle that it used to. Their secondary is not as tough as you might think- against Miami Central, STA got torched against not only hot running backs but also good receivers. A competent passing game along with a fantastic ability to run the ball might catch them off guard. Being creative with pass plays and doing catch-and-runs is the way to beat STA’s defense. Venice also dominates the LOS this year like they have in the past. Shutting down their offense is going to be another matter. In order to shut down their offense, you need to pressure the quarterback consistently because they have an efficient passing game. Having a quarterback spy along with keeping 7 men in the box, 2 cornerbacks, and 2 guys deep in the secondary will ensure that they can’t pass- without problems of course. And it will also severely disable their running game. All in all I think Venice can do this to STA this year. I’ve seen them play almost perfectly before, and I think they can do it again, beat STA on the road, and win states again.

Personally I don’t think Bloomingdale is a threat to us, STA is the only team we have to worry about and I still think we’ll beat them handily

Yeah I know. Vero Beach looked like a machine but I remember you told me they had a tradition of undefeated regular seasons with early playoff losses. I thought this year would be the year Vero Beach broke that rut. I guess not.

I don’t know if STA can beat us this year but we’ll see. I want to see Vero Beach play STA in the regular season next year. I think it would be really cool.
