  1. Oh I have caught wind guys… some of you all are about to get slapped with some restrictions BECAUSE YOU ALL CAN’T FOLLOW THE RULES… OR YOU CAN’T READ THEM! I expect you all to police yourself and can’t. You know who you are… especially a couple of you who have put political topics into this when the rules clearly express NO POLITICAL TALK…
  2. Well before this even came out Poinciana told the Orlando Sentinel they were going Independent again. They missed Sebastian River and it appears that the commitment form was never filled out.
  3. Windermere Prep... sorry this is what happens when the the list is just one big jumbo list.
  4. If you all want... hosting a Twitter Space tonight around 9 PM to discuss all this!
  5. I would be really cussing up a storm if we didn't have the power rankings for playoffs to help sort that out. I can live with this knowing the power rankings can help this scenario.
  6. Been asked to give everyone a full view of the new districts and regions under the Metro-Suburban plan and I have them all here for you:
  7. I am working on them and getting them organized for an article. It is going to take me a minute format.
  8. So it appears the FHSAA will lose two teams to the SSAC 11-Man football in 2022, but will gain one with Christ's Church Academy jumping back in. So only a minus of one for the FHSAA. Anyways, here is the rundown of what the SSAC will look like for 2022:
  9. They picked population density as some areas are more dense in terms of numbers. If they had went to overall population instead of Seminole, Lee County would have been the eighth county on the Metro County list which likely could have flipped peoples lid in Southwest Florida.
  10. Only if you had just let me start the thread @badbird lol jk
  11. They did talk about something similar like this a few years back (thinking 2017 maybe?) but the FHSAA member schools torpedoed the proposal from the onset.
  12. I am not defending the FHSAA, but if you actually do the research, you will see where in their bylaws and policies you will see where a lot of references to State Statues comes into play and if you look at the State Statues references you will see where the state has taken the power away from the FHSAA to make decisions regarding transfers and anything related.
  13. The problem is the state legislature has taken all the teeth away from the FHSAA from doing that. There is only so much the FHSAA can do. They can't stop kids from moving around. If you all want to start somewhere, do some research on who you are electing to Tallahassee from your area. Ballot box does matter here.
  14. All you are doing at that point is shifting one group of teams up and moving another down just basically putting teams that don't move right back into the same situation with a different group of teams. Football is not soccer.
  15. Yes there are in fact a few of those, but also it is not just being out in the middle of "nowhere." You realize Indian River County is 31st in population in the state yet has an 8A school in Vero Beach? Think about that for a second.
  16. That is what Metro/Suburban would do. It would open for the door for a lot of teams to say hey we have a chance here to do something and be in the mix. Doing Nothing is not the answer, but if we keep doing nothing we are going to end up like California.
  17. You will never get the support of the state behind something like this. It just isn't feasible unless you like to rely on MaxPreps rankings to make those decisions for you because that is what it is going to come down to.
  18. The classification system is broken... If you want the Metro schools to keep winning and taking all the spots in the state championships which also brings fewer fans to the stands while the schools in suburban and rural areas continue to get whipped because they can't get the talent needed because they don't have the luxury having 500,000 people in a small radius and knowing these are the schools that can bring fans to the stadium when state championships are held, then yes let's keep kicking the can down the road. Open enrollment is here to stay, this plan is at least an attempt to try to do "Something" to fix the issues. Ok so what if it doesn't work? You keep working on it, but to not put any solution into action is not a good course of action. Doing the same thing over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. Multipliers won't do it because its a gray area involving open enrollment. Public/Private is not an option because its has been suggested before and not something from what I have heard is a popular idea with state legislators. End of the day sadly, I don't think this is going to pass leaving us with the current system in place... but I am tired of predicting the same state champions over and over again months before the season starts. That is not fun for me as a journalist, an advocate of this sport, nor is it fun for you all as fans.
