  1. In the social media age I don’t think kids need to illegally enticed to go to a school. They know who the best teams are and can make things happen on their own. If you are a 4 star on a Broward public that lacks all the resources to succeed then you are most likely going to inquire what it takes to attend a private that will set the foundation for your future
  2. I think an open division is a good idea only if you cut the classes down substantially. Because it would be a mockery of biblical proportions if we took the 8-16 best teams in the state put them in 1 bracket and then had 7-9 more brackets of nothing but the good to average to below average teams. The champions would be atrocious. It would be an embarrassment beyond repair. A stain on the sport. I pray it never comes to that
  3. Send link to the cheating so I can submit to the FHSAA please
  4. This year Chaminade beat Jersey Champ Bergen Catholic Vanguard beat Erie Co Monarch beat Cedar Grove GA Western beat Milton GA
  5. Yes Florida beat 4 champs this year. This thread was from 2019 and I was just updating it
  6. Forgot to update this thread. Add 3 to the list. 2021 Chaminade beat Arizona champ Highland 2022 STA beat Pennsylvania champ SJP 2023 Vanguard beat Colorado champ Erie
  7. Whoever reported this thread please log in and let me know what it is that is bothering you.
  8. Super teams meaning teams with multiple impact D1 transfers that no one can compete with outside of other super teams. So back in the day, Lakeland used to beat STA’s head in like a baby seal to the tune of 4 titles and a 5-1 overall postseason record against STA from 1996-2006. After 2006, STA said NO MAS!!!!! The South Florida teams started stockpiling talent at break neck speed starting with Miami Northwestern. With a collection of future college and NFL talent MNW wins the high school national title. Then in 2008, STA loaded at every position with a Broward County All Star team, crushes Lakeland and wins the first of their 2 national titles in 3 years. STA from 1963-2007 won 3 state championships. Then after stocking super teams, they proceed to win 12 state championships from 2008-2023. Miami Central from 1964-2009 a grand total of ZERO state championships. From 2010-2023 they win NINE titles!!! Chaminade from 1964-2016 they win 2 titles. From 2017-2023 they win 6!! American Heritage won zero from 1981-2012 and then 4 titles since. These are the 4 top teams in Florida the last decade by far. None of these teams were anything before 2006. You can say STA won 3 but that is in 35 years compared to winning 12 of the last 16. And it’s all thanks to Lakeland
  9. Hate to break it to you but there are aloooooot of Christian coaches. If I was looking for a Cricket or Soccer coach, maybe those billions of humans might be of more interest. But culturally I’m looking for a Christian. Nothing to do with politics. Just want to know where the man’s head is at. And he was asking everyone “what are YOU looking for…” Also new flash but people who follow most other religions are fringe here, and they either don’t play American HSFB or don’t excel at it. Some do but it’s such a Small number that it wouldn’t make me change my entire philosophy and outlook.
  10. Utah has got to be the worst in the country. They have 6 classes and only 105 teams in the state!!!!!!
  11. No there isn’t any for football. Some small states only have 2 or 3. But that’s more of the fact they don’t have a lot of teams
  12. I would like a coach who just coaches. Preferably not some former college or NFL player who is just bored or wants an introduction to coaching. I would prefer a coach who wants to be a high school football coach only. That’s his job. Not some teacher. Not some parent. Not some volunteer. An old ball coach. And X’s and O’s guy who is a leader of young men. A man who is of Christian faith and can teach young men valuable life lessons to help them be better teammates, husbands and fathers.
  13. Imagine if you came from a small rural town and were interviewing for a job and they said they had a specific amount of openings. And you said to the hiring manager that you should only have to compete against the applicants from a small rural town. Lol. That’s what it sounds like to have multiple classifications.
  14. @Nulli Secundus this is outstanding. I agree with this 100 percent. imagine in track, the top runners ran the 100 meters in 9-10 seconds. Now just imagine if they broke up the winners by how fast you ran. Meaning there is a 9-10 second champ. A 10.1-10.5 second champ, a 10.6-11.0 champ and so on. That’s how stupid 9 “state” champions sounds. We need one true state champion.
  15. Love it. If you aren’t top 64 in the state then you shouldn’t be competing for any type of real championship anyways.
  16. Amendment by member Ray passes!!!!
  17. It will be 1 vs 512, 2 vs 511 and so on. So Chaminade will play the Florida School for the Deaf, and STA will play the Tampa School for the Blind
  18. Ok here is how you settle everything on the field. 9 rounds to determine one true state champion. Here’s how it works. First everyone plays 5 regular season games. Just to warm up, get in rhythm, and gel for the playoffs. The top 512 teams make the playoffs. Round 1 - 512 teams Round 2 - 256 teams Round 3 - 128 teams Round 4 - 64 teams Round 5 - 32 teams Round 6 - 16 teams Round 7 - 8 teams Round 8 - 4 teams Round 9 - 2 teams for the 1 true State Championship. That means everyone gets 6 games minimum, and if you lose in the early rounds you can just schedule random games with other teams who were eliminated as well. Up to 4 more depending on what round you were eliminated in. can I get and Amen?
  19. It’s the only true way to be state champion.
  20. So rules have to be altered based on something STA has no control over. Sounds like they are being punished.
  21. The argument you are making contradicts itself because the fact that there are so many other teams means STA would have to fight for and compete for talent with about 100 teams they are just more successful at it than others
  22. Who has 1/7 of the population of us? Georgia has half the people we do. Georgia has about 100 less teams than we do so they should only have one or two less classes
  23. Pennsylvania has 6 classes with the exact amount of teams as Florida Ohio has 7 classes with 200 MORE TEAMS than Florida!!! 9 classes is a watered down embarrassment
