  1. I will tell you this, they get a slew of kids to the next level so if you play them chances are it is going to be in front of a decent amount of college scouts. That’s what I told the teams in Pasco. You gotta go and find some quality opponents in Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando. Because you’re doing your kids a disservice by not getting them any exposure at all. If a college scout is coming to the Tampa area, they aren’t wasting their time. They are gonna go where the most talent is. So you gotta schedule the teams with the most studs so they come see your players too. Lance McCullers was a pitcher at Jesuit, who plays for the Houston Astros, and I remember going to one of his high school games. When he pitched about 30 guys behind home plate had radar guns to test the pitch speed. Whenever the opponent pitched, they did the same thing. The opponent got free exposure to all the college scouts because they were all there for McClullers but got to stay for him.
  2. There’s a huge difference. All of their players are coming from Canada and Europe with the exception of a very few. Their whole operation is based on international players. Hence Clearwater Academy International. A lot of players who come down are physically gifted but still raw to the game of American football because they haven’t been exposed to it at the same level kids here have. I highly doubt the little league football programs in Canada, Germany and Italy are operating like they do here if they even have them. This team doesn’t hide who they are. They operate this way, and the coaches and AD’s who feel comfortable schedule them do, and the ones who don’t, don’t.
  3. Clearwater Academy has a formula of allowing kids from mainly Canada and in part Europe to come board and play American football. Coach Chinchar started a few years back as an 8 man team, and has grown into a quality football program who is pumping kids to the next level and beyond. And they might not have had that opportunity if not for CAI. They don’t compete in the FHSAA so they don’t have the same restrictions. Teams know exactly what they are getting when they play them. They are not IMG in terms of level of play. Lakeland beat them by 35 two years ago. I have met their head coach numerous times in person and have corresponded with him for years over text and email. He’s a good dude and does right by his players
  4. Apalachicola and Carrabelle high merged in 2006 to form Franklin County. it can be done. There is no justification for Gilchrist County to have 2 high schools and 18K in population when Gadsden has 43k In population and only one high school
  5. My screw up. It was 27 http://www.usa.com/rank/florida-state--land-area--county-rank.htm
  6. Gadsden County had 4 high schools in 2002!!!! They merged into 2 high schools in 03 and 04, then merged into 1 in 2017. There is no reason those county’s don’t merge
  7. Just pulled up the square miles of each county. These are the square miles of land for each of these counties who only have 1 high school Gadsden 516 sq miles (43,000 Pop.) Baker 585 sq miles (27,000 Pop) Wakulla 606 sq miles (31,000 Pop.) Desoto 637 sq miles (34,000 Pop.) Hardee 637 sq miles (37,000 Pop.) Okeechobee 768 sq miles (39k Pop.) Now look at these counties with 2 high schools and see if this makes any sense? Gilchrist 349 square miles (16,000 pop.) Gulf 582 square miles (15,000 Pop.) Washington 582 sq miles (24,000 Pop)
  8. @Joshua Wilson I would like to hear your input on this too. So there are 67 counties in Florida. The bottom 24 counties in terms of population start with Levy County at 45,000 people. Gadsden County is next with 43,000. So why does Gadsden County have one high school, and Levy County have 3?? Chiefland and Williston are on opposite ends of the county with Bronson right in the middle. Why can’t Bronson students split between Chiefland and Williston? Also Gilchrist County has only 18,000 people and they have 2 (Bell and Trenton). Now Bell is smack in the middle of the county, whereas Trenton is on the very bottom. Why couldn’t they just merge into one school in Bell? And finally Gulf County comes in with 15,000 people. And they have 2 ( Port St Joe and Wewahitchka). Why in the world do they need to high schools?
  9. STA beat state champ St Louis High from Hawaii a few years back who was mentioned as one of the best Hawaii teams of all time. But the game was close. 31-19 I believe
  10. I will point out that a Canadian team a few years back beat a Pennsylvania team who went on to win their state championship. Not sure how quality the playoff path of teams were. Pennsylvania is a one team state. The football is largely low quality
  11. Yes. A few years ago a team from Canada called St Matthews had open recruiting all around Ontario for kids to play American football. They didn’t have the same rules as us in regards to openly recruiting kids to come play high school football. They came down to play Stoneman Douglas. Douglas wasn’t good at all that year. Borderline horrible. Got destroyed in multiple games by multiple touchdowns. They lost by 30, 37 and 40 to other teams who weren’t even close to title contenders. That’s how below average Douglas was that year. I say all that to explain the context that Douglas beat the living crap out of St Matthews 30-6! And it wasn’t even that close. Douglas got to feel what successful teams feel like even if it was for only one game. Lol Long story short, the world is light years behind America in American football, but that is to be expected
  12. I don’t know how. They are playing a club team. Not even a high school team.
  13. There was a kid who threw 91 touchdowns and only 4 picks in just one season and was a 2 star. Another guy threw 10 TDs his senior year and was a 4 star. The recruiting services weren’t ranking their stats. They were ranking their body size. 6’1” 190 against 6’4” 230 The first guy had a good college career at Troy. Corey Robinson was his name. The second guy is Tom Savage who played some games in the NFL for the Texans
  14. Any more schedules besides 4M?
  15. So they are gonna get the doors blown off them by Duncanville
  16. How’s Rockledge doing in the transfer department?
  17. Victory Charter School from Kissimmee is listed with 3 games on maxpreps. 2 against Joshua Christian from Jacksonville and another against Hollis Christian from JVille. Coach listed as Andrew Tino @Joshua Wilson
  18. Man I would love to. Only issue is my son is a freshman and has a JV game the day before. The varsity plays Friday Night against a county rival away. So I would have to see if he wants to go check his guys out and cheer on the older kids, or he if doesn’t care to. Lol
  19. Nature Coast is up my way. Not too far. About 10 miles away. They are usually pretty decent for the area. You will have your hands full. Looking at the schedule they will be the toughest team you face all year.
  20. Here’s one I never heard of https://www.maxpreps.com/fl/miami/smarten-sports-academy-goats/football/
