Since everyone likes to crunch some numbers every once in a while, we figured this would be a fun way to look at some of the things surrounding teams and the playoffs by looking at some numbers as we get ready to start the ‘Drive To December.’

192 – The number of teams in the playoffs.

92 – Most FHSAA playoff games won by a team, including state championship games. That team would be St. Thomas Aquinas and could get this number to just three games shy of 100 if they run the table in Class 7A.

117 – The most playoff games ever played by a single team, which again the record is owned by St. Thomas Aquinas.

2 – The number of teams that have played over 100 FHSAA football playoff games. Only two teams to that have been St. Thomas Aquinas and Bolles. Glades Central is the next team closest with 93 games played.

26 – The most consecutive playoff appearances by a team. That record is owned by St. Thomas Aquinas.

35 – The most FHSAA football playoff appearances which are jointly owned by both Bolles and St. Thomas Aquinas. Glades Central follows just behind that with 34.

11 – The number of FHSAA state championships won by Bolles. The Bulldogs have a chance to add No. 12 this year if they run the table in Class 4A.

7 – The number of defending state champions from 2015 that are still alive with a chance to defend their state championship in the playoffs.

1 – Guaranteed new state champion this season in Class 6A.

5 – The number of consecutive state championships Booker T. Washington (4A) could have if they reach the state championship game and win it. No team in FHSAA playoff history has won five consecutive state football championships.

4 – The number of first-time playoff teams – Ocoee (7A), Doral Academy (7A), Matanzas (6A), Seffner Christian (2A)

4 – The number of first-time district champions. That includes Ocoee (7A), Lake Nona (7A), Gulf Coast (7A), Mater Academy (7A).

25 – The number of playoff teams that are undefeated.

16 – The number of playoff teams that have a losing record.

472 – The amount of points Bolles (4A) has scored this season, the most among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

54 – The amount of points FAMU (2A) has scored this season, the fewest among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

32 – The amount of points Dwyer has surrendered this season, the few fewest among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

396 – The amount of points Chipley (1A) has surrendered this season, the most among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

52.4 – The average amount of points Bolles (4A) has scored per game this season, the most among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

6.75 – The average amount of points FAMU (2A) has scored per game this season, the fewest among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

4.8 – The average amount of points Sebastian River (6A) has surrendered per game this season, the fewest among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

6 – The number of shutouts pitched each by Miami Southridge (8A) and Sebastian River (6A) this season, the most among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

48.63 – The average amount of points FAMU (2A) has surrendered per game this season, the most among all playoff teams regardless of classification.

13 – The number of years since Middleburg was in the playoffs, the longest gap between playoff appearances.

4,739 – Number of days since Middleburg (6A) last played in a playoff game which was Nov. 21, 2003 when Middleburg lost to Dunnellon, 45-22.
