Week 11 FHSAA RPI Class 2A Football Playoff Rankings

10 weeks are in the books for the 2021 Florida high school football season and the FHSAA has released their latest look at the RPI football playoff rankings as we head into the final week of the regular season. As such this is going to be our last RPI breakdown for the 2021 season.

As such, this update provides the entire state a glimpse of what the potential playoff matchups could be looking like come the second week of November, but remember things change, as we still have three weeks worth of games (including this week) to go, however, the playoff picture has become much clearer with some teams already done for the regular season and other teams having one game remaining.

In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.

For Class 2A, you will find a breakdown of RPI rankings for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.

REGION 1

PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS

No. 1 University Christian – BYE
No. 5 North Florida Christian vs. No. 4 St. John Paul II (Tallahassee)
No. 6 Rocky Bayou Christian vs. No. 3 Munroe Day
No. 2 Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) – BYE

QUICK THOUGHTS: University Christian has moved up to the No. 1 seed in the region while Trinity Christian has fallen back to the No. 2 seed. Teams No. 3 through No. 5 still remain in the game order, but Rocky Bayou Christain is back in as the No. 6 seed after winning their fifth game of the year last week, while North Florida Educational dropped a game to Fernandina Beach which could keep them out of the playoffs.

REGION 2

No. 1 Orlando Christian Prep  – BYE
No. 5 Orangewood Christian vs. No. 4 Holy Trinity
No. 6 Victory Christian vs. No. 3 Foundation Academy
No. 2 Zephyrhills Christian – BYE

QUICK THOUGHTS: The only change this week is that Father Lopez losing to Orangewood Christian coupled with Victory Christian’s win last week sees the Storm sliding into the No. 6 seed at the moment at 3-6. With one game remaining, anything can happen before Sunday.

REGION 3

No. 1 First Baptist (Naples) – BYE
No. 5 Evangelical Christian vs. No. 4 Seffner Christian
No. 6 Bradenton Christian vs. No. 3 Community School (Naples)
No. 2 Northside Christain – BYE

QUICK THOUGHTS: The first change here is that Northside Christian moves up to the No. 2 seed while Community School falls back to the No. 3 seed. The next big change is that Evangelical Christian now finds themselves in playoff contention at the No. 5 seed while Bradenton Christian slides back to the No. 6 seed with St. John Neumann on the bubble at No. 7.

REGION 4

No. 1 Avant Garde – BYE
No. 5 John Carroll vs. No. 4 True North
No. 6 Archbishop Carroll vs. No. 3 Glades Day
No. 2 Champagnat Catholic – BYE

QUICK THOUGHTS: It appears Avant Garde will likely have the No. 1 seed all locked up with a win this week while Champagnat Catholic remains a distant second. The biggest change this week is the fact that Westminster Academy has fallen from No. 5 to No. 7 after their loss last week to Westminster Christian. With John Carroll winning they have slide back into the playoff seeding picture at No. 5.
