The College Football Playoff Quarterfinal kicked off on New Year’s Eve with a game between No. 6 Penn State Nittany Lions and No. 3 Boise State Broncos squaring off at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. The game itself featured a total of nine Florida HS Football Alumni on the rosters between both teams.
The Nittany Lions defeated the Broncos with a score of 31-14 and held all-everything running back Ashton Jeanty to just 104 yards and fell short of reaching the single-season rushing record of Barry Sanders. Drew Allar threw three touchdowns, two of which went to Tyler Warren. IMG Academy alum Kaytron Allen had 17 rushes for 134 yards on the ground for Penn State. Boise State committed four turnovers in the game.
