Columbus has taken over No. 1 in Class 6A. Columbia jumps four classification positions to lead Class 4A. King’s Academy moves into the top spot in the SSAA Atlantic. Christ’s Church Academy rises four places to No. 1 in SSAA 11-Man, while Santa Fe Catholic climbs from No. 3 to No. 1 in FHSAA Independent League B.
Elsewhere, established leaders remain firmly in place. St. Thomas Aquinas continues to lead Class 5A and the statewide rankings, Raines remains No. 1 in Class 3A, Cardinal Newman holds Class 2A, Hawthorne stays atop Class 1A, Innovation leads Independent League A and IMG Academy National continues to sit far above the rest of the standalone Independent group.

Columbus Takes Over No. 1 as Lake Nona Explodes Into the Top Six
Columbus moves up one classification position to No. 1 and climbs four statewide spots to No. 4 with a 92.32 FPRI rating and a 26.6 SOS. Venice slips to No. 2 at 88.62, while Vero Beach moves into the No. 3 position with an 82.26 rating.
The biggest shakeup comes farther down.
DeLand climbs three classification spots to No. 4 after shutting out Lake Mary 33-0. West Orange moves to No. 5, while Lake Nona makes one of the largest jumps anywhere in Florida, soaring 11 classification positions to No. 6 and 80 statewide positions after beating Edgewater 24-3.
Seminole rises to No. 7, while Lake Mary falls five classification spots to No. 8 following the loss to DeLand. Spruce Creek holds No. 9, and Edgewater drops five classification positions to No. 10.
The separation around the middle is exceptionally small. Lake Nona sits at 76.37, Seminole at 76.09 and Lake Mary at 76.08. Only 0.29 points cover Nos. 6 through 8.

St. Thomas Aquinas remains the clear leader in Class 5A with a 100.49 rating and 24.1 SOS.
West Boca Raton remains No. 2 at 96.48.
Then comes significant movement.
Buchholz rises one classification position to No. 3 and six statewide spots to No. 8 after shutting out West Port 21-0. Armwood climbs two classification positions to No. 4 after its 51-0 victory over Spoto, while Lakeland slips two spots to No. 5 despite routing Osceola 40-6.
Tampa Bay Tech moves up to No. 6 following its 48-0 win over Plant. Mandarin and Mitchell climb one position each to Nos. 7 and 8, while Palmetto and Sumner each jump three places to complete the Power 10.
The most interesting cluster is from Nos. 3 through 6. Buchholz sits at 85.05, Armwood at 83.70, Lakeland at 83.46 and Tampa Bay Tech at 82.97.

West Nassau slips one spot to No. 2 at 70.17 — only 0.04 points behind King’s Academy. American Heritage (Delray Beach) falls one spot to No. 3 at 69.53.
Paxon climbs one position to No. 4 and jumps 63 statewide places.
Hardee rises four classification positions to No. 5, while Franklin County jumps five spots to No. 6 and 72 statewide positions.
Space Coast drops to No. 7, Calvary Christian falls to No. 8, Frostproof moves to No. 9 and Branford remains No. 10 while climbing 44 places statewide.

West Nassau begins Week 5 only four-hundredths of a point behind the new leader.

Paxon tries to build on its major classification and statewide rise.

Real Life Christian Moves to No. 1
Real Life Christian climbs one position to take over No. 1 in the SSAA 8-Man rankings with a 66.02 rating.
Merritt Island Christian slips one spot to No. 2 at 65.39, leaving only 0.63 points between the top two.
Bradenton Christian rises one position to No. 3, while Shorecrest Prep falls one spot to No. 4.
Foundation Christian remains No. 5, Countryside Christian stays No. 6 and First Academy-Leesburg jumps four classification positions to No. 7.
Hernando Christian and Lakeside Christian remain Nos. 8 and 9, while Ocala Christian falls three places to No. 10.

Innovation Remains No. 1
Innovation remains atop Independent League A with a 68.02 rating and climbs 15 statewide positions to No. 63.
Windermere remains No. 2 at 65.00 and carries a much stronger 12.4 SOS.
There is then a considerable drop to Umatilla at No. 3 with a 52.52 rating.
Cooper City stays No. 4, Oasis remains No. 5 and Fort Lauderdale holds No. 6.
Atlantic makes the largest classification move inside the Top 10, climbing three positions to No. 7 and 109 statewide spots. Belen Jesuit and Oak Ridge fall one place each to Nos. 8 and 9, while South Broward moves into No. 10.

Foundation Academy rises two positions to No. 4.
Geneva makes a five-position move to No. 5, while Lake Highland Prep and Oak Hall each fall two spots.
The biggest mover is Trinity Prep, which rockets 17 classification positions to No. 8 and an enormous 244 statewide positions. The Masters Academy falls to No. 9, and Holy Trinity moves into the No. 10 spot.

The standalone Independent grouping continues to have the largest gap between No. 1 and No. 2 of any classification.
IMG Academy National remains No. 1 with a 98.85 rating and sits No. 2 statewide.
Miami Beach climbs three classification positions to No. 2, but its rating is 55.12 — more than 43 points behind IMG Academy National.
Reagan rises one position to No. 3, Cornerstone Charter climbs two to No. 4 and Ferguson rises two to No. 5.
Braddock makes the biggest move in the upper half, climbing six classification positions to No. 6 and 162 statewide spots.
IMG Academy Junior National falls five places to No. 7, Coral Reef drops five to No. 8, SFA Academy sits No. 9 and Varela jumps six positions to No. 10.

FOUR WEEKS IN, THE CLASSIFICATION RACES ARE TAKING SHAPE
Several leaders now have meaningful separation.
St. Thomas Aquinas leads Class 5A by more than four points. Raines carries a substantial advantage in Class 3A. Cardinal Newman has created more than four points of separation in Class 2A, while Hawthorne holds a 3.26-point lead over Carrollwood Day in Class 1A.
Other races could hardly be tighter.
King’s Academy leads West Nassau by only 0.04 in the SSAA Atlantic.
Columbia leads St. Augustine by 0.36 in Class 4A.
Real Life Christian leads Merritt Island Christian by 0.63 in SSAA 8-Man.
Santa Fe Catholic leads Mount Dora Christian by 0.77 in Independent League B.
And then there are classifications where the middle has been completely reshaped.
Lake Nona climbs 11 places in Class 6A.
Bay rises four in Class 3A.
Madison County jumps four in Class 1A.
Indian Rocks Christian climbs 18 in SSAA 11-Man.
Trinity Prep jumps 17 in Independent League B.
Those movements are becoming more meaningful because they are increasingly being driven by actual 2026 evidence rather than preseason expectations.
The classification races are beginning to mature.
They are nowhere close to being settled.
