  1. I wonder how many Armwood, Plant, or TBT games certain folks attended this year to reach the conclusion that they're confident CM would beat any team in Tampa Bay?
  2. Again, not impressed. My opinion.
  3. AHP has been building a powerhouse for some years. They are a nationally elite team. Chaminade is not at this point. Also, if you chose not to post on other forums, so be it, but don't say I ran you out of anywhere. I rarely, if ever, responded to your posts. Although I thought you gave some really nice previews of the Tampa Bay area private schools. And I'm the one being rude?
  4. Rockledge is a good team. No doubt. On their way back. They played Gibbons very tough and beat Cocoa. But they are what they are. A second round playoff team.
  5. Small sample size. Chaminade Madonna is not STA or Central. They also aren't the Chaminade Madonna of 2005 under Mark Guandola. Don't forget, Plant beat BTW and Miramar deep in the playoffs. Armood has beaten Central and owned BTW, although its been a while. And again, Chaminade Madonna aint them.
  6. Where? Predicting Pinellas private schools will get blown out by S. Fla. teams with superior athletes? That's about it. Pinellas privates have never won squat.
  7. If you think CCC would beat TBT this year, LOL. Once in a while maybe, but not this year. Not even close. And Hillsborough would shut out CCC. Here are the Hillsborough teams that would beat CCC: Armwood Plant TBT Hillsborough Chamberlain Teams that would likely beat them, but it would be a decent game: Jefferson Jesuit Bloomingdale
  8. I disagree. You're dead wrong. Watch a game outside of 3A now and again.
  9. Against any Tampa Bay private school. Armwood, Plant, TBT, Hillsborough would all beat them or play them close.
  10. I'm an advocate of 4 large classes with 2 small classes. You could also go 4 public school classes and 3 private school classes. That would also solve a lot of issues.
  11. Go over this and you'll be shocked about how many teams play out of their class. This has to stop. Need 4 big classes and two small classes. Here it is. http://www.fhsaa.org/sites/default/files/attachments/info-page/population_report_for_web_1.pdf
  12. No. You just make a schedule. Your schedule must consist of at least seven teams from your region. You could schedule more if you wanted. Whoever has the best record gets in. You could have the top eight make it. You could also go to sub-regions or super districts and have 16 teams. Same logic would apply. That would keep it a little more Geographic. Top four would make it out of those 16.
  13. Have 32-teams region. Requirement of playing at least 7 teams in your region. Top 8 teams make it, based on how they did in the region. You can then seed them based on their records, points, or by votes from coaches, ADs, and Principals.
  14. This is all easily identified through the student population report. Come up with 4 large classes of about 120 teams each. The geography will work itself out. If you get rid of districts and have regions, it would give teams more travel flexibility.
  15. This turned into a good game. Paper said Armwood was without Lamar and Gardner. They'll need them next week.
  16. This was a hard hitting and defensive game. Lakeland's QB, RB, and DL are excellent players. If the teams play 10 times each is going to win 5. Plant lost its RB to a vicious hit that almost knocked him out. As it was, their returning starter was already lost for the year 1 week before the season started. Hopefully he can return but I doubt he comes back next week. Maybe for the Championship round if they make it. Not saying it was a dirty hit. Play occurred closer to the L sideline so I didn't have a good viewing angle. They also lost a an excellent DL/LB. Kid with a great motor and a big contributor. He was carted off with what appeared to be a significant leg injury so it's unlikely he returns for the playoffs. Plant plays with heart every week. It's funny how you experts on here write them off because your sick of them. Lol.
  17. The new system is mediocre at best. Could get a much better result by simply having larger districts and then seeding the teams. Why are there still 3 team districts? We still had a 6 loss Lincoln in the playoffs. How do you avoid this? Bigger classes with bigger districts. We only need 4 large classes and 2 small classes. We don't need 8. If districts had a minimum of 7 teams there would never be bad teams in the playoffs. On top of that the fhsaa could seed the teams. The other way is to go to regions of 32 teams. Schools would have to play a minimum of 7 regional games. Top 8 teams in the region based on thsir regional record make the playoffs. This would give teams more flexibility in scheduling. Could even seed the regional qualifiers based on votes from coaches, AD's, and principals.
  18. Vanguard appears to be a very good team. Armwood played a pretty decent schedule and came out unscathed so I'd imagine they can game plan for some of the weapons that Vanguard can present. I think the key to a Vanguard win is coming up with ways to relieve the pressure Armwood will put on your qb. You can throw on Armwood if the QB has sufficient time, but typically the Armwood pressure creates a lot of bad throws that result in picks or 3 and outs. Very tough to run on them unless you have athletes like Miami Central. It will take a special effort to beat Armwood, but it's certainly possible.
  19. Agree cjm04. Plant's kryptonite is STA. They get out talented, out executed, and there is no coaching advantage.
  20. ".... They banned us from setting up cameras in the end zone..... They had a radio show in our booth set up so our coaches were kicked out on top of the roof by the speakers that were highly amplified with loud music/PA sound. They made no provisions for a box for the visiting coaches like we did for them last year when the game was on TV. We GAVE them our own coaching box..... ...Didn’t like the announcer using artificially amplified noise (through speakers and electricity not the band) during offensive plays which is TOTALLY illegal and the PA was warned twice about it to the point that their head coach pleaded with the PA guy through the headsets to NOT play the gong sound during play. He did it a third time and they flagged him. All he had to do was NOT push that button. He couldn’t do it. And yes it was annoying and illegal. They gave us sh** about setting up HUDL sideline technology—like we were televising the game to the whole country or something illegally. Yet their admin had no problem with their kids prodding our athletes at halftime trying to get to the locker room. That was the worst thing.."
  21. Apparently this works both ways. Please read this thread. The penalty was not on the Viera band. It was on their press box. Plant coaches believe it was Viera pulling the shady sh*t, not the other way around. They were doing electronically amplified sound clips to screw up the QB's cadence during the snap count. Don't get me wrong, Plant's band does plenty to disrupt the other team's offense, but it's never "amplified" and it's not done at a snap count. It's a continual racket while Plant's D is on the field. https://bigcountypreps.com/big-board-forum/?p=post%2Fplant-guys-explain-this-late-penalty-on-vierra-please-9486894%3Fpid%3D1301892787
  22. D1 signings are about the same. Steady each year. Sometimes a few more than other years, but usually no more than 4-6 each senior class. No Wilder this year. No Murray. No Marve. No Charles. But plenty of good ball players.
  23. Not really. I think the state just caught up. Especially in coaching. PHS has a great staff but your seeing better and better coaching staffs all around these days. Plus it' hard to replace Marve, Murray, and Ely. Been a while since Plant had an elite QB. The defense and run game have not dropped a bit. But when there isn't an elite QB to stir the drink its a different beverage.
