  1. 4A was a tough class this year. BTW of course is BTW, and still king of the hill. They let it be known early in the season that they wanted the nation to take notice and respect the Tornadoes by taking on a very talented Tucker Georgia team. They are the 4A program to beat but some other schools made ot clear that they want to be contenders. BTW will build another great team next year and I'm sure they're going to focus on getting their 4th straight championship to set a Florida record for most back to back. Clewiston wasn't the Clewiston of the last few years getting rung out like a wet mop. Walker made sure that his club was going to be competitive and in the game for 4 quarters. Those guys were in great condition and very practiced. Wouldn't surprise me to see them at the top of the class again in 15. Not sure how good they will be next year but I do know they have the potential to be another top 4A program. Side note; the whole town is behind Clewsiton. When you drive in for a game the store fronts are covered with Clewiston Tiger support. Cocoa was under the gun, they started their season 3 weeks behind the rest of Florida if you count the pre season game. St. Francis and Champagnat cancelled and they didn't have a warm up game. It showed in the first 2 games then took it's toll when they fell to Nationally ranked Trinity Ky by 3 missed xtra points. They rolled right up till Clewiston. That was a game that was played like it was in O-town. Cocoa's next test was the Tornado's which most thought was going to be another tough game. It was and Cocoa fell 2 feet short of tying the game when Judson tripped going in for a 2 point conversion. The game was a 2nd half thriller right up to the hail Mary that was caught by C Guardner as time expired. Note; Cocoa returns most of their talent for 2015 and the JV shut out every opponent on their schedule with an average victory of 37 - 0. Glades made strides this past season and I'm not sure who will be coaching in 2015. They played a very tough AH Delray to within 1 TD and lost to ELY 16-0 before running up a streak until the regional against BTW. If Stevenson returns you can always count on them to be a contender in what ever class they play in. Glades will lose a lot from their team this season but have a knack for finding the right guys and developing them into playmakers. Don't sleep on them in 15. Raines was a real contender this year beating Bolles earlier in the season and then coming up 1 TD short of making the championship game against BTW. They will be back next year with a lot of their talent, but they lose their QB to graduation and he will be hard to replace. However the team returns their leading RB and WR and that makes it a lot easier to build another great team. I expect to see them in the playoff hunt again in 15 and giving Bolles all they can handle. Bolles is always a threat to win against good competition. They beat a nationally ranked Niceville to the surprise of many. Their one loss before the playoffs came to their regional rival Raines by one point. They avenged the loss in the regional game by beating Raines by a TD. Corky Rogers will have his team ready in 2015 even though he has a few Sr's to replace in some of the key positions. Who you got that will surprise us in 4A next year?
  2. Wonder if they will reclass Cocoa to the north side of 4A next year. Wouldn't that be crazy.
  3. It was one hell of a game. Neither team had control of the game. Home may have helped Cocoa maybe a tiny bit, but BTW are known to be road warriors Cocoa returns almost 90% of their team. It's going to be another big rival game next year and throw Clewiston into the mix. They're for real and have the whole town behind them. Good luck to BTW and let's keep the hardware in south Florida.
  4. It was a battle to the very last play. Read the updates on the link below. http://nationalhsfootball.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4026
  5. I like the idea of 6 classes with 2 classes for teams that are consistantly under a .500 season. 1A 1-149 students 2A 150-499 students 3A 500- 949 students 4A 950- 1599 students 5A 1600- 2249 students 6A 2250+ or Any school that wants to play in this division. 2 divisions for the teams with consistant losing records. 1B 1- 949 studends can compete. 2B 950- unlimited students. Once a B school takes a championship it must move up. Once a B school has a won more than 70% of their games 2 years running they must move up. Any B school can petition to play down 1 Class after coming out of the B division for 2 years. Privates that have 2 or more students from out of area must play up one Class. Independants may petition for a playoff spot in the next level Class.
  6. I know he had over 4400 for the season and over 15000 for his career. He was on the right team at the right time. Hopefully he can preform as well at the next level.
  7. Source: Florida close to hiring Jon Gruden I asked myself why would Gruden even consider coaching on the college level. My reasoning was that his first debt is to his family which is rooted in Tampa. Second is the stress of college level football isn't near the same level as coaching pros. Third, he has a chance to do the recruiting and development of young athletes. And last, while making a great sum being a common tater, rumored to be 4 million, the salary Florida would pay would be around the same at 4 million. Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden has agreed to an exclusive agreement with ESPN that will keep him on sports television's signature series and out of coaching for the next five years. The new contract begins in September 2012. In a recent interview with Real Sports though, Gruden sounds much less certain than his employer over that agreement saying while he's turned down several opportunities to get back into coaching, he would return under the right circumstances. When pressed by Bryant Gumbel, Gruden said he would come back for the right opportunity. "I don't know,'' Gruden said. "I'm trying to figure out where I'm going. If the right opportunity presents itself, I will come back.''
  8. They Backed out of Cocoa's game also. Bet they have a hard time finding anyone decent to play next year. If I'm a coach I say no way, you're just going to back out on us if we start to win. Fire the Coach!!!
  9. Cocoa travels to Clewiston, BTW travels to the winner of that game.
  10. Bayside needs to beat Heritage to take District. If they lose they are in a 3 way tie with South Fork and Heritage Palm Bay. One good team will not make the playoffs. Any other playoff spots on the line?
  11. From Brevard Palm Bay Should end 7-2. In District Losses to Viera and Titusville. Heritage vs Bayside. Bayside could clinch District with a win. A loss forces a 3 way tie.
  12. Senior Tucker Israel of Orlando, Fla., Lake Nona became the state’s all-time leader in touchdown passes. The Clemson recruit now has 127 after a pair of scoring strikes in a 28-6 win over Kissimmee, Fla., Gateway. Israel set the Florida record for career completions and passing yards earlier this season.
  13. I predict this will be a great game from start to finish with Miramar squeaking out the win. Wait... Flanagan squeaks out the win.
  14. Will Treon play now or is he still out?
  15. Here's the full text of a press release sent to local media by Gainesville lawyer Huntley Johnson in regards to Treon Harris, his client. We are releasing this statement in an attempt to help clarify the circumstances surrounding the investigation of Treon Harris. The status of Mr. Harris as a student at the University of Florida is that he was given an interim suspension pending a resolution by the administration of the University. After an appeal of the decision to suspend Mr. Harris, the University decided to allow Mr. Harris to continue his online courses. Because he is not allowed on campus, Mr. Harris is currently not attending those classes which occur in a classroom. In terms of the criminal case, as most of you are aware, the University released a redacted police report yesterday evening. Currently, Mr. Harris has not been arrested and the criminal investigation is ongoing. First, we want to dispel the idea that the alleged victim and our client didn't know each other. Our client and the alleged victim knew each other to the extent that they had each other's cell phone numbers and had previously spent time together of their own accord for the purpose of socializing together. We want to dispel the idea and rumors floating around that our client forced his way into the alleged victim's apartment. Those rumors are patently false. Mr. Harris has never been inside the young lady's room. We understand that all of the evidence was gathered from our client's room, which is where the interaction between the two parties took place. We know that an individual has given testimony to law enforcement that he had sexual relations with the alleged victim less than an hour before the alleged sexual conduct with our client took place. In fact, testimony indicates that the young lady in question was the sexual aggressor in that interaction. Our investigation has produced no evidence whatsoever that the young lady in question was impaired. We have provided law enforcement with multiple witnesses that will indicate what the interaction was between the alleged victim and our client before they returned to our client's room: they were smiling and they were holding hands. They returned to the Springs Residential Complex in a car driven by another female student who was a friend of the alleged victim. We have provided multiple text messages to the authorities investigating this incident. These texts were exchanged among the alleged victim, Mr. Harris, and the other gentleman mentioned above. When these text messages are released, they will show that the young woman making these allegations initiated the conduct with Mr. Harris while he was still in the locker room in Knoxville. Shortly after the team plane landed, texting continued between Mr. Harris and the alleged victim. We believe the evidence will show the alleged victim was in fact in the sexual aggressor with not one, but two young men early last Sunday morning. Misstatements in the media to date have painted a picture that is inconsistent with the evidence. That said, we have fully cooperated with this investigation. Mr. Harris agreed to a search of his dorm room. Mr. Harris agreed to a search of his phone. Mr. Harris gave a voluntary statement to law enforcement. We have turned over at least six (6) eyewitnesses to the events in questions to law enforcement. We have turned over the text messages to law enforcement. We have suggested to law enforcement multiple locations from which they should secure video surveillance. We have provided law enforcement with information gathered from the Internet that this young woman posted on Sunday, after the alleged misconduct, where she is smiling and happy. There is no indication of any physical or mental trauma. We have previously indicated that we do not believe that Mr. Harris will be arrested or prosecuted. That is because of our experience and the facts of this case. He is not guilty of a crime and he did not mistreat this young lady in any way that night.
  16. Games of interest so far... BTW - Northwestern Trinity Jax - Godby AHP - Bolles Mainland - Oviedo Anyone have one?
  17. Considering I missed the first week I like the Pick ems. Thanks Josh, I know it is a lot of work and we appreciate it.
  18. What is wrong with these guys? http://florida.247sports.com/Bolt/Report-QB-Treon-Harris-being-investigated-in-legal-matter-31802996 More on the report... Is this just a jealous girl causing problems for Treon? http://blacksportsonline.com/home/2014/10/report-treon-harris-may-have-been-falsely-accused-of-rape-over-cheating/
  19. Non homer game. Jefferson vs Norland in 2010. Both teams played a flawless first half. The game was very even in talent. The second half started the same, but near the end of the 3rd quarter Jefferson started winning the battle in the trenches. I'll never forget the 1st half and how prefect both teams played. Homer Game. Cocoa vs Abilene Tx. 2010. Cocoa played the then #1 Nationally ranked team Abilene in Texas. No one gave Cocoa a chance to win, but Cocoa played their guts out and pulled the all time upset beating Abilene 24-21, Younger to Buie on a bomb for 75 yards to win. Younger had an arm and Buie had the speed. Younger threw it for all he was worth and Buie ran under it. The ball seemed to hang in the air forever and was prefectly thrown. It was the play that put Cocoa on the National HSF map. Abilene went on to beat state runner up Tampa Plant, the following week 27-17. Plant lost to STA in the Championship game. Cocoa's defense was ranted #2, only behind a very solid offensive and defensive STA team.
  20. Thanks Josh. I was using Maxpreps for the scores and that is why I said Corrections may be needed. I pulled the East Lake score before they could verify it. And Maxpreps is known for getting the scores wrong. I use their scores because they put them out quickly. Should be fixed.
  21. Cocoa vs Raines Was a very humid night. The wind was absolute dead. Just plain muggy. Just like the game, muggy. Both teams looked flat, until Jusdon ripped off a 92 yard TD run, to put Cocoa on the board to end the First Quarter. Raines has a decent QB and WR combo hitting several deep passes for scores, while Judson and Dean hooked up for a score. End of the half with Raines in the lead 14, Cocoa 13. Second half was much better for both teams. Both hit some long passes for big yards and runs that kept drives going. All in all it was a very good match up with Cocoa coming out on top. Raines should be playing Bolles again in the playoffs, but like last year, Rogers will make changes and 4A north should see Bolles in the championship game again.

  23. I agree, open forum with Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Track and Wrestling seem to be the ones that generate threads. Tennis, Golf, Swimming, Bowling, etc... could all have a side link but I doubt there would be many visitors. La Cross seems to be catching on in High School so be open to putting something up for that.
  24. Didn't Clewiston beat the crap out of Ely? That's who GC should be worried about because I know Cocoa is taking Clewiston as serious as they are BTW. In other areas of 4A. Raines just beat Bolles and Cocoa plays Raines tonight, should be interesting.
