Supposedly Champagant OC is the new HC at Miami Christian. Expect more Champagant kids to join
Yup he mentioned that

I agree
Dwyer would have been the smarter move because he would likely had started there and that probably would put Dwyer very close to being on par with St Thomas Aquinas in 7a region 4
I got a feeling one of those qbs at PBC move over to Dwyer before August
Why Dwyer? How bout Glades Central, or Pahokee, or Palm Beach Gardens?

Heard the same thing also that he was in a 3 QB battle over there to be honest the kid can go to Dwyer or any other program that is on the verge and bring them over the hump I don't think PBC was the best move for that kid I know going to PBC was the sexy move this off season but all moves are not the best one.
Why wasn’t that a smart move for him?

Personal experience
Everyone outside of Lake City will say Columbia is a garbage program until we can win a state championship
Without a championship we will be stuck with a failures reputation
Man the only reason ppl say that cause you prompt them to be better then what they are.. Columbia is a respected consistent program that just can’t win a championship..

Well unfortunately in this day and age winning a championship is the only way to gain respect because in people's mindsets either your a champion or your trash
That's the mindset that's been created because of these all star programs that beat decent teams and teams who would have been considered good 20 years ago and make them look like a jv squad
The only way you get respect is to win a championship? What?

If a kid is playing GTA or any other video game, they google a walkthrough/FAQ/Beginner's Guide in how to beat the level rather than through trial and error. They think the goal is "beat" the game rather than actually learn how to beat the game. They are the same kids who if they play other video games will buy all the "perks" to have a character that starts off great rather than earn their success.
I think there is a lot to gain from sports. I think a scholarship and a championship are some of those things. But I also think that there are soft skills that a person learns through sports. How to work with otherwise, how to lift others up, how to lead and be led. I think sports are fantastic, but I also don't think that a team is great only if they win a championship. I don't think a kid is a great player if he has tons of stats or earns a scholarship. I think when he only focus on the rings/scholarships we miss the whole point of what sports are designed to which is to create better people, both physically and mentally. Some of the videos I love watching is when the University gives the walk-on his scholarship and the tears of joy that the player shows. They know the long hours they put in. They know the pain and suffering they had to face to earn that scholarship. Yes, he earned the scholarship, but the journey (the weight room, film room, the practices) was a long rough part of it. We just want to skip that part.
It isn't that a kid shouldn't be focused on winning, but again that it is the AAU mentality. Rather than build up my classmates and teammates up, let's just go get that kid to transfer to our school.I am not arguing for participation trophies, I am not arguing against trying to win. I am arguing that if you want to win you should build it yourself and not bandwagon on to someone else's success. I disliked Lebron going to Miami with Bosh and Wade to form a superteam (if he just went for the money, no problem). I respected him when he went back to Cleveland and won a championship. I dislike KD going to Golden State when they had already won a championship without him (and probably should have won the year before he joined). I don't admire his as much as I did when he was with OKC when he was building something.
So Columbia softball; trash in 2018? If you asked the coaches and players and parents, would they feel the same way?
And the all star programs are a problem. I don't understand travel baseball for T-Ball kids. I don't understand travel basketball for kids who are still learning how to add and multiply.
Ok I see where your coming from but only can agree with some.. Like a walk on getting a scholarship.. Most of the times them kids do have scholarships but choose to be walk on to schools they want to go to that didn’t give them scholarships... As for Lebron I didn’t mind what he did cause him and Chris Bosh join the heat... These things been happening since the Boston Celtics glory days and Lakers and even the Bulls... A kid transfers to a better Situation still has to work hard n grind to win that championship... So should I be upset Bama keep getting kids that’s are highly recruited knowing there’s a high chance they gonna sit the bench?

Many years ago, fans and coaches talked about the AAU mentality, where the purpose was putting together "superteams" to win these large basketball tournaments that billed themselves as national championships. Players would move from team to team to try and get on a winning team. Forgetting that that the journey is a big part of getting to the destination. I would understand if your coach wasn't making you a better player but most of the time when you had more wins/better stats because the talent around you was better, not because you were better.
We have raised a generation of kids who think it is okay to google a walkthrough for any game rather than figure it out on their own.
We shouldn't be surprised to see that same mentality enter football where earning the ring/scholarship becomes the only goal rather the journey in how you did that which often entails a struggle.
Then why play sports if there’s nothing to gain from it?

Look at the college level, coaches go job to job there and no one complains but are critical of athletes doing the same
If people hate these transfers they better take same stance when coaches do it
Exactly!! Players learn from what coaches do..

Here's an example of the external forces affecting the game. Larry Blustein writes this young man's "stock rose" when he moved to Deerfield Beach. It is statements such as these than can influence the kids and get them thinking that Deerfield Beach is the ticket. It sounds like he was getting ample attention at Douglas.

But he’s telling the truth... The Blu man knows his stuff n keep it 100

Is that why those national board knuckleheads think MNW falls off this year?
There gonna still be good.. It’s just TuTu played 4 years of varsity and you can’t replace that experience that easily.. They will be in runnings for a state chip

I sure did miss him..thanks Zoe Boy...added him to original post. So it looks like they got the following transfers to help them last season. How do you think the Bulls would have fared without these guys? Were they the difference with them winning the state title or would they have had enough depth without them?
Jacquez Stuart-RB(Jr) 3-star transferred from North Miami High for junior season
Davonne Kendrick-RB(Sr) transferred from Miramar for senior season
Quavon Beckford-WR(Sr) tranferred from Booker T Washington for senior season
Divaad Wilson-CB(Sr) 4-star transferred from Monsignor Pace for senior season
Rachad Wildgoose-CB(Sr) 3 star transferred from Coral Gables for senior season
Honesty Divvad and Bo was contributors plus that is Divvad home school ... Wildfoose was decent imo... But TuTu led that team

Please add/revise anyone who has more accurate information. The years listed in parentheses, ie sr, jr, soph, refer to their class from this past season, so you can see who they are losing or retaining. Looks like Northwestern benefitted from one transfers this past season..Wildgoose at cb. It appears the bulk of their "rated" talent this past season came up through their system. Assuming that is true, it is nice to see.

My point is why is it then when STA losses people try to give them the benefit of the doubt with any excuse that comes around
Yet if i pointed out how bad our officials are no one cares
Sounded to me like people are acting like St Thomas Aquinas can only lose when they are being cheated
What ? Idk where you get that from but before the game last year vs Venice folks was still picking STA to win but was not confident.. It’s not a excuse.. Venice won fare n square.. BUT there was calls in that game that could of change the outcome of that game. Y’all the one that have the perception that STAcant be beat cause of their “roster” as us down here know besides that 2008 season I believe (I may be wrong) That STA could of easily lost to a whole bunch of teams if they just played them. Like I said those kids that be on STA roster ranked don’t even be the best players in Dade n Broward ... Eyes don’t lie..

Hello Boys, IMMMM BAAAACK
Yes, we have a long history with crushing private schools. True, Glades Central hasnt been the same team for awhile, but we still have this reputations.
We fear no team!
American Heritage plantation wants to play we wont avoid them.... Just like we're not ducking Cocoa this year. Win lose or draw we will play the best!
We didnt lay down to Deerfield and we were expected to be beaten 49-0 by some critics. Gc didnt look to bad having 30 kids against 70+ strong with Deerfield.
Im aware Gc didnt look to good up front, but best believe thats not being over look.
And I can respect that.. That’s the mentality I know a lot of schools down here have! Don’t COMPLAIN about how much “so call stars” other schools have.. They strap me up and leave it on the field.. The muck always have my respect !!!

Yeah but teams change over time
Sure teams like Cardinal Gibbons and AHP weren't elite a decade or 2 ago but back then there were others who took their place
Elite teams change over time, Ely and Miami Killian used to be powerhouses
Wouldn’t say Killian was a power house

In my eyesight I think they where down just like in 2013 when dwyer beat em
Wouldn’t say they were down.. They just wasn’t dominant as prior STA teams.. Don’t believe on the star hype... All of them don’t be what the rivals or 247 tank them.. alike I say i go by what my eyes see..

If they qb don’t ball STA ain’t going nowhere plus their oline also wasn’t up to par like prior teams they had... Ppl fail to realize that also about STA last year

I thought it might be interesting to break down each of the state title winners from last year to see how much each team relied upon transfers. I hear so much about this topic, I thought it would be good to have facts versus perceptions.
Am starting with 3A champion Chaminade-Madonna. Below were their top players from this past season. The years listed after the names are years spent at the C-M program. All were seniors unless noted otherwise. They did get a couple of good wide receivers who transferred in. They already had one of the best WR's in the state in Xavier Williams, who is going to Alabama. The OL they got from STA...not sure anyone would cry over STA losing someone.
As you'll see, they had a strong core of home-grown players. Were 4, 3-star transfers the difference between them winning/losing the state title? Not sure. But it does appear they would have had a pretty strong team even without them.
Chaminade-Madonna
Marvin Alexander –WR transferred from Flanagan for senior season (3-star)
Tecory Couch (Jr)-DB 2015-2018
Davoan Hawkins-DE 2015-2017
Akeem Hayes-WR transferred from Ely for senior season (3-star)
Daelen Menard-QB 2015-2018
Sebastian Sainterling-OL transferred from St Thomas Aquinas for senior season (3-star)
Shaun Shivers -RB 2014-2017
Keontra Smith (Jr) -DB 2015-2018
CJ Williams –LB 2014-2017
Cameron Williams (Jr)-DE transferred from Nova for junior season (3-star)
Xavier Williams-WR 2014-2017
I work with Marvin Alexander Mom and Dad which they live in Miami Gardens... Home school is Norland or Carol City but never attended those schools...
