I don't think Chaminade is the same caliber as TCA. Both teams have good athletes but overall TCA's scheme and talent is better. I believe TCA will win in easily.

First of all, I want to apologize to you for my statement on the Venice STA game. I am a little rough around the edges and I love the fact your son plays for Venice and you are passionate about everything Venice as you should be. If my son went there, I would say the exact same thing. However, I have seen a lot of football over the years and I am a huge Manatee fan. With that being said STA is a different animal, especially down there. It is more hostile than you can imagine. Their fans and their players for the most part have absolutely no class. BE PREPARED FOR THAT. Second, they are very well coached in all phases of the game and I mean ALL. They will have tremendous talent. With that being said, I hope you guys kick the shit out of them. Venice will not beat STA. They don't have the talent, resources and they don't have the coaching. The teams Venice played this year were not very good. Despite what everyone thinks Manatee and Braden River were down. STA has been in the battle with great teams and are battle tested. Venice has not. STA will roll them.

From an athlete standpoint this is a complete mismatch. However, I believe the coach at Berkeley is hands down the better coach. With that being the case, I see Berkeley hanging with TCA for perhaps a quarter or two but too many athletes to contain.

Very cute Proseteye. You know how it works. The families apply for financial aid when applying for admission, it comes back with what they can afford which is usually very little if anything at all, and ,bang, the deal is done and the school has a new student athlete that can ball. If the school can afford it, they get a whole bunch of those and they go out and win state championships.

I have seen them several times on television primarily against IMG on ESPN and the state playoffs. They look like the typical TCA to me. They try to out athlete you with press man cover on the outside while they bring the house. This scheme is very effective for them. To have any chance of winning opponents have to throw (quick game) to keep them honest. Their offense is fairly one dimensional although I really like what they did to IMG with the unusually large splits on the o line. That scheme created huge gaps and allowed their over matched o line to get much angles to create huge holes for TCA's talented backs. I think they run the table if they institute that new scheme. If they don't Oxy will give them a hell of a game.

TCA matches up well with IMG from a talent standpoint both inside and outside the box. Their problem will be if they can't throw effectively. If they aren't productive in the air, very balanced, they will struggle to score. The other area that gives all high school teams trouble and is worth perhaps two scores per game is IMG's special team play. Every time I watch them I am amazed at how good they are in that phase of the game.

I did not realize that the River had that many transfers. I guess that's the new program du jour instead of Manatee. Regardless, the River played their hearts out. Hats off to them.

IMG rotated Quarterbacks and had several starters out on O-line (discipline issues) in first half so no continuity early. However, Carol City is very good. I watched the Oxy game last night and for the life of me I don't see how CC lost to them. In my opinion, CC is by far the better team in all phases. They must have had a really bad night. If they played now it would be no contest.

Probably right but Paragon's missing the boat here. Everybody wants to see the two privates play if 1 and 2 at the end of the year.

This newspaper is going down the toilet. Their attitude and horrible coverage while employing bozos like this is beyond foolishness. I can tell you right now if anyone brought that up to the school board there would be a referendum immediately to replace them. If the media guys think they are going to shove this down the Manatee peoples throat they are completely wrong.

The way I read the article it will be the highest ranked team in the state regardless of classification. So whoever that is at the end of the season will go if they want to go. In the past they did not pay all cost so it could be an issue.

Overall the coaching is currently better at BR but the Venice team this year is too talented. Venice by at least 10.

I think STA has the athletes and the coaching to match up with the Bishop. The Q for STA better play within his capabilities and protect the ball. If STA takes care of the ball and keeps their emotions in check they will win but it will be a very close tough game in a hostile environment.

Every team IMG plays is their playoff game. This is one example of the many Hostile FUN Environments they experience when they go on the road and play. I have a friend who works there and they always refer it to the enigma that is IMG. My team, Manatee used to be the same way. Everyone wants to beat them and they thrive on that. Here is an example of the typical environment on the road for IMG. Watching the Grayson game it appeared to be the same way.
