  1. The privates are already in FHSAA. We can't just kick them out. What we need is a governing body that adopts and enforces rules that ensures a level playing field which is something we do not have; private or public.
  2. I don't think the privates would go along with it.
  3. So who goes in that league? You got STA, AHP, Jesuit, Cardinal Gibbons, TCA, maybe Belen & Columbus. Bolles and Pace aren't what they use to be. Bishop Moore is decent but not on the level as those above. At best you might have 10 top privates in the upper group.
  4. I don't like that idea. Here's why: Over the last few years (since 2012) I have observed a few things; a small handful of super-teams not only dominating their respective classes but doing so at the expense of those that traditionally haven't been competitive. Likewise, once proud and competitive programs have gotten worse; like Hallandale or Haines City for example. We've talked about how the top teams in Colorado come to Florida to play or weaker teams. Colorado is a state where recruiting is legal and there are only a few dominant programs. I'm afraid Florida is quickly becoming the same.
  5. Separating publics and privates: The vast majority of private schools are small. Some have even formed their own leagues like SSAC, etc. Class 2A is nearly all private schools and class 3A is majority private schools. So what would you do with the larger private schools? There just isn't that many that could make a class.
  6. I've never have had issue with the idea of school choice or with vouchers for academic reasons but as we see, the policies in place have solved nothing. In my opinion the real issue is government bureaucracy and the fact that local school boards haven't much say at all when it comes to curriculum.
  7. Get involved, make a difference. Don't let them win.
  8. Yeah, kickoff classic sounds better.
  9. If it's going to affect rankings, then it should count as a regular game.
  10. Who would rather have an 11 game regular season than a kickoff classic that doesn't count? Seems to me a lot of hype gets put on these games and the tone for the rest of the season is set by them. If they actually counted would it change who you schedule?

Well one time Naples beat Estero 91-0; it was 70-0 at half-time. So perhaps this game might have.
  12. I see we got them week 8. @fishspinners maybe Hardee and Palmetto will renew the rivalry soon. Coach Kemp hasn't been one to shy away from competition
  13. Anyone got the 411 on them for this year?
  14. Frank Romeo, Hardee 1986. Received a full ride to FSU but got into big trouble.
  15. I still support my time, whether up or down, new coach or old coach.
  16. I've heard a lot of hear say as to why so many left. And yes, some of them were impact players. Regardless, there remains a good nucleus intact and a winning season, making the playoffs and even a district championship are realistic goals for the year. A lot of work needs to be done.
  17. Earlier in this thread I mentioned Sebring got 6 transfers from Hardee. I also heard Fort Meade got 3 transfers from Hardee. I suppose if either Sebring or Fort Meade exceed expectations this year the credit will be given to fact they got transfers in. Likewise if Hardee has a really bad year the excuse will be because we lost 9 players which is a comp-out because we still have some good players left.
  18. Aren't all these games scheduled the 1st week of the season?
  19. Or losing one transfer can kill a team. In 2018 Lemon Bay went 2-8 after their QB from the year before transfers to Venice. Otherwise I think they would have been a playoff team.
