  1. I did withhold my opinion. I clearly stated as much. In any event, the right team won.
  2. Do you know the man? How do you know he is not qualified?
  3. @Jambun82 there was no need to post this three times. I am not dimwitted. I also happened to be at that game. I will keep my opinion of the officiating to myself.
  4. Where their is life there is hope. UCF gave up 29 unanswered points late in the game last week to give Baylor the win. My wife was very upset being an alum.
  5. As an experienced QB, Mendoza just made a critical judgement error throwing a pick in the end zone, when the correct play was to throw the ball away. If Homestead can eat clock they likely win this game. Critical possession here for Homestead.
  6. Homestead just did a very dumb thing. Interception a 4th down Columbus pass. So, instead of having great field position, they have terrible field position. Ball should have been batted away.
  7. Halftime. Homestead leads by 9. From what I have seen so far, both teams are solid. Thinking way ahead, at this juncture, the Orlando area team that would give Columbus's defense the most trouble is Lake Mary with they high tempo passing offense. If they met Columbus in the semifinals or finals, I could see a shootout in the region of the Apopka vs Cypress Bay final in 2012.
  8. Homestead takes a 19-10 lead with seconds left in the first half. They have exploited some weakness in Columbus's pass defense.
  9. Live stream just went dead on me with Homestead inside the red zone. Hope I get it back, it seems to be a great game.
  10. As it was at Apopka when Jeremey Gallon or Chandler Cox took most of the snaps. We were still run biased, but were also a threat to pass and many times caught teams napping.
  11. If you do go for choice 3, though, you will have to have tie breakers each week. Select a game and have each participant forecast either the point spread of the final result or the total number of points in the game or some such statistic. If not, we likely have some posters facing elimination tied at the end of each round.
  12. That is exactly right. They have consistently been the best Public School in Marion county for several years. But they have lacked the overall ability to get to a semifinal let alone a title game.
  13. Their answer would likely make it impossible to determine the winner as it would be overly complicated and totally non transparent.
  14. Vanguard this year is what Vanguard has been the last several years, no better, no worse. A playoff team, sure. But a title contender, I very much doubt it.
  15. Sure. Cocoa recruits, but the meat of their program is still based on homegrown kids. I kind of mentioned them as an afterthought, because of the fact that they do get a fair number of transfers at critical positions.
  16. Because I am an elitist, I favor choice number 3. It aligns with the playoff system of having only the two best in the final games.
  17. I think they are going off Pine Forest's great showing in the state title game in 2021. I am at a loss as to why Buchholz is being afforded the same treatment.
  18. That is true to a degree. For most of the rich depend on transfers to maintain their status. That requires either monetary reward such as a scholarship in the case of the privates, or convincing kids in an area that school X is the place to be. Apopka, Osceola and Mainland all in Central to East Central Florida, have, to a degree, maintained strong programs without overly depending on transfers over the past 20+ years. Cocoa, despite a couple down years, has done pretty much the same. But they have been able to do this, by having great talent based in their schools boundaries, and by convincing the kids that they should stay home. In the case of Apopka, this is bolstered by the fact that a good amount of our talent comes from Plymouth and Zellwood, which are both in the rural part of Orange County and which would make it very difficult for them to commute to any of the other better area programs unless mommy or daddy had the money to buy them reliable transportation, which they would not as these are poor sections of Apopka.
  19. The way the sentence was structured was ambiguous. So, your error was understandable. I knew what he was referring to because I know the poster personally.
  20. He's talking about the HBC and not the QB.
  21. I was influenced by watching video on their QB. But the rest of the team proved they were probably not top 25 either. Oh well.
  22. They tied Miami Southridge. I believe the score was 22 a piece. Southridge took a decent early lead off of Evans's miscues only to fritter it away. They stormed back on their final drive to tie the game and had a chance to win it, but the xtra point went wide left.
  23. They gave up 3 touchdowns in the 4th.
