So will be a national board? If so I understand wanting to grow your brand but your focus on florida high school football was what made.this so great.

They only lost by THREE
I watched the game it wasn't the margin just the way UWF was able to do pretty much what they wanted to on offense. Not really knocking FIT just surprised by how well UWF played.

Florida Tech is a decent D2 progam. Not a fair comparison to NAIA. That is like comparing UCF to Florida Tech! Bloodbath!
West Florida (first year program) beat Florida Tech pretty good a couple of weeks ago
-
I guess they will play Devry, University of Phoenix, SNHU online, and Capella University.
-
Now everybody can get down to business, I love this part of the season.

Would port st Joe be a top 10 team in the panhandle based on the fact of being the best 1a team out of the region and being in championship for past2 years and a good chance to go back this year?
I don't think so. You have some consistently strong 1A schools in the panhandle year in year out, Baker,Blountstown, and Port St Joe. These teams will have years where they are around the top ten but that is when the big schools are down. I think the big schools in the Pensacola area are in an upswing right now, Bay County is still down.

I think you have been doing prettygood with it and appreciate the effort. This week was crazy and there are more important things than football(not many though). Yall did a great job with the updates during the storm. Keep plugging away on the sos polls so that you have it all figured out for next year. Thanks for all yall do.

Port St Joe 25
Taylor County 32
Taylor County was impressive big and fast and learning under Coach Tanner Jones. They have come so far in the last year it's amazing. 3A best beware.
As for PSJ the boys need to focus on district play and execute.

Hurricane's 31 Florida 4 (1987)
That's just mean.

I considered Opal but never reached a Cat 5 status - even off shore.
I would say Allen, Ivan, Mitch, Gilbert and Oval are all under consideration and knocking at the top 10 door.
The problem with Opal was it formed and hit with very little warning.
-
Opal in 1995 and Ivan in 2004. Both hit the panhandle and flooded Alabama.
Opal hit the week before my first wedding and wiped out our venue. Sometimes God sends you a very obvious sign and you still don't heed it. lol

I wonder if since States is getting pushed up a week, and week 7 were to be cancelled statewide; would it be possible to push the remainder of the season up 1 week to complete the season? Would the logistics be possible?
Are there any rules in place by the FHSAA which allows 2 games to be played in a week under certain circumstances - when post -season play is at hand? We haven't crossed that bridge yet but does anyone know how the FHSAA determines districts if not all games are played?
I think that's a good idea. At least teams could make up district games to determine if needed for playoff implications. I don't imagine a playoff bound team would want to risk injuries for a non district game.

Hey Sportsnut25 thanks for the updates. When do you think we will find out about game cancellations?

Maybe we could rank all-time hurricanes that have hit the sunshine state?
Someone would want to then rank tropical storms, you know the "jv" of tropical systems. Hey if you evacuate head up to Lake City I'm sure Columbiafan will have a place for you.

I needed a week off my picks have been terrible lately
-
I can't imagine they will play any games on the East coast. You guys stay safe over there we will be praying for yall.
-
I like it it will just take a few days to explore it
-
I'm more worried about making it there again than where or what time.

I love Friday nights, the band playing, the smoke from hamburgers on the grill, fried shrimp and gumbo at the concession stand. Seeing the whole town from 8 months to 88 donning their purple and gold, cheerleaders, the ROTC color guard during The Star Spangled Banner. Watching the boys leave everthing they have out there on the field just for the love of the game. Great stuff.
I would also like to mention what a great atmosphere Baker High has especially late in the year when its about 45 degrees and they have the best hot chocolate.

I tend to go too quickly to the varsity board and don't spend enough time on the home page. There is so much good info on the main site. The Varsity Board allows us to get the opinions of people that are invested in one or two teams and their insight is invaluable. The site as a whole is excellent and Josh and crew seem to be striving daily to make it better.
