Armwood would hold their own. Hillsborough County does not allow scheduling at the school level, the county AD schedules the entire county. Unless someone comes knocking with a major game, then you can apply to play an out of county team. Armwood would not run the table every year in south Florida, but they would win a lot of games. They are not battle tested like the teams in south Florida.

Atlantic is definitely getting there. The student populations at a few of the mid county schools says they should field very talented teams. As I get to know the local schools a better I will make more informed answers. Boynton Beach has fielded some VERY talented teams. They just have not gotten over the hump

There was a kid that transferred from Dr. Phillips to a Tampa area school a few years ago. Parents rented him a condo in the district. They stayed in Orlando

Only schools in Palm Beach that can ever field the talent that they field in Broward and Dade are Suncoast and Palm Beach Lakes. And they can not get it together in either program. You will find great Palm Beach County teams at Dwyer, Boca, Gardens, but the teams just are not as talented as the teams to the south.

The talent level in 6A north just isn't as high as it is in the South. Armwood most years is not far behind the 6A south teams, but when you play maybe one team a year that has that level of talent it doesn't prepare you for it. Its not like Armwood has never beaten Central to win the ship.

No one outside of the staff at Tech ever wants to talk about that game, lol. I have never heard more excuses about a loss where they were physically dominated most of the game. They have a great program, they just ran into a buzz saw that night.

Yeah. I will have to make my name in Palm Beach County. The head coach where I am teaching won a championship at Dwyer, so I am going to try giving it a shot in the spring where I am teaching.

It is SUPER hard to get a head job in Broward. Especially at the top programs, if you don't have a state title, or NFL credentials its almost impossible right now.

Man, the crazy thing is I know the principal, just interviewed for a teaching job there, and we talked about football. But I ended up accepting a position at John I Leonard so I am going to pass.

T1 you know I am a defense guy, you might block it the same, but for me they will look very different.

Whether you call a 5-2 team a 3-4 team is subjective but is interesting that you never played against Hillsborough, Robinson, armwood, Brandon,riverview, or plant :-) Coached agaisnt all of them. Beat all of them except Armwood and Hillsborough. 5-2 and 3-4 are very different personnel wise. Ends vs LEOs/OLB

3-4 is harder to run in high school because you need specific body types to run it successfully. You have to have a 0 technique that is huge, you also need two big inside LBs. Its easier to implement and run 4-3/4-2-5, and 3-3/3-5-3 because you can scheme around a lot of size issues.

I never coached against a team in Tampa that ran 5-2 cover 4. Most of the teams I coached against ran 4-3 under/over, or 3-4.

For Div 1 ball the clock does not stop. The day you set foot on a college campus you start burning eligibility whether you are playing sports or not. Div 1AA and lower are different. They only count the time that you are enrolled in school. But yes, no matter what level, you have already lost a year of eligibility, or you could say you burned your redshirt.

You have 5 years to play for years on the field. There is no age limit. Chris played pro baseball. The Div 1 rule is that you lose one year for each year that you are enrolled in college. If you never enroll, you don't lose any eligibility.

Ole Miss is going to get destroyed. They graduated all of their top players, on the road against a team that returns EVERYONE with a bad taste in its mouth. Ole Miss may keep it close for a half.
