Agreed. After that game everyone in Tampa knew there would be a changing of the guard
-
I agree. We also were hurting with a slow QB.And still hung in there. We still should've won.
-
Yes you are right! That '11 Armwood team was stacked. But even with that team Central was right there with them with a very young team. Cook and Yearby were only sophomores. 3 plays changed that entire game. Two pick 6's and a wheel route play for a TD when Central was within four points. But nonetheless Armwood did win it on the field. But not in the record books. The talent level in 6A north just isn't as high as it is in the South. Armwood most years is not far behind the 6A south teams, but when you play maybe one team a year that has that level of talent it doesn't prepare you for it. Its not like Armwood has never beaten Central to win the ship.

Ely was garbage too! Which makes Dillard look even worse. Dwyer was off that night the same way MC was off when they lost to CC in the regular season.Im not, but Ely is better then a 2-7 team their record shows
-
Probably so. For the record I have nothing against Dillard. Two of my sisters graduated from there. But I will not let this guy sell them to be a good team and they're not, then when I call him out on it he wants to be disrespectful. Naw coach! There are other ways to express yourself without being disrespectful.Didn't that same Ely team come within a touchdown of beating dywer in playoffs who is supposed to be a top 5 7a team?
-
I don't know what this guy has tried to sell you on Dillard, but they are a 5-5 or 6-4 team at best. Their schedule isn't anything to talk about. They may have a few athletes but that's about it. Dillard is probably the 10th best team in broward and that's being generous. STA, AHP, Flanagan, Deerfield Beach, Miramar, Plantation, Hallandale, Cooper City, Cypress Bay are all better than Dillard. Not to mention didn't they lose to a 2-7 Ely team in the Broward Soul Bowl? Are you that high on STA or just that low on Dillard?
-
STA will SPREAD Dillard out and unleash the CRACKEN on them!2 questions
1: what would you set spread at?
2: what odds would you put this game at?
As far as odds...The scoreboard will look REALLY odd in STA's favor.
-
Classic! The final score will be whatever STA wants it to be.
Dillard is playing to win - whatever it takes - Superbowl of 2016!!!.
STA is also playing to win also...but more so working out their kinks and testing their new products...Anything could happen...Dillard could upset STA but understand that Dillard is a science experiment to STA as well.
-
If this game isn't a running clock, I'd be surprised!
-
Dude is about as delusional as Trump with that statement. He don't know no better. You would take Dillard 3 out of 5 versus Deerfield Beach?
In the '90s?
-
Central didn't help themselves either. That game was something else....
-
Ok. Yeah they tried to keep it close, but the Central play calling on offense was HORRIBLE! That also kept Armwood in the game too.I was talking about the 2014 state game that was complete b.s. against Central.
Man what is it with these zebras? Let the kids play!
-
But even with the crap that was pulled in 2014. Central still went up to Mainland and won en route to a 3rd straight state championship. The refs held Mc down in 2014.
No doubt there are some politics involved in this one as to how db mainland is not in the north when they are obviously north or I-4 is troubling
-
Yes they were. I mentioned that in my first post.If Im not mistaken Mainland was put in the north. They petitioned to stay in the south. We were surprised at that.Maybe it works out better for them. Central petitioned to stay in 6a and not 7a.
-
Let's talk about this STA vs Dillard kickoff classic. They played last and STA mopped the floor with them and I see no difference this year. Stop trying to sell the people up north PANTHERS fools gold! Dillard will probably make the playoffs based on their district but WILL NOT beat a Central or CC team in the playoffs. If Dillard was in the same district as Central playing the likes of CC, NW, and Norland wouldn't taste a sample of the playoffs.

Dillard not that Good Do u dade [admin redaction] even look at football or dare i say know it? Lol go back to recess wit da rest of the Kids Homie leave the football talk to actual people who have played the game. Dillard is not that Good but almost everyone on here & on the polls think other wise. Nice try tho...& it domt got anything to do with me being a dillard Alum this could have been any team. You say derrfield can compete with central and u can put dillard & deerfield on a neatrul field & i will take dillard 3 out of 5 but were not that Good. STA VS DILLARD is 1 of the top kickoff classic games in the state this year but dillard isnt that Good? If we was so bad that game will not be talked about at all. Nor sold out with dozens & dozens of people buying tickets already.
First of all check yourself with the language or I can "ASSURE" I will have you kicked off this board. Bet that HOMIE! Just because you played the means what? Child please! You wanna talk about polls lets...Outside of being the TOP team in 6A the last four years and being in the top 2 in the state poll prior to the final game Central has been a legitimate NATIONALLY ranked team since '09. And Dillard...I'll wait. CRICKETS! You have hyped Dillard the last few years and they've did nothing. When they played Central in the playoffs two years ago...it was like the looks of your girlfriend, not pretty! At all. Dillard's last good team was in '00 when they went to state and loss. Yes they beat Central in the playoffs that year..Whoop whoop! I know the game very well and know Florida football history better than you might think. Just because I'm not on here posting all day like you and few others doesn't mean I'm clueless. And again watch the language. I got Josh on speed dial. But then you wonder why folks look at African Americans the way they do. You don't have to let EVERYONE know your level of ignorance.

I totally agree with you. Back in 2014 the proposed realignment had Mainland in 6A north, where they should be but the FHSAA decided to relocate them back to the south when the final alignment was set. Armwood beats teams mentally before the even set foot on the field in the north. It's kinda like De la Salle in California. Thier dominance in northern California is Ridiculous! They haven't lost a game against NorCal teams in over 15 years.I more or less started this topic to expose the difference of 6A North (Region 1 + 2)...not so much Armwood versus 6A South or Miami Central. The bigger problem seems to be the 35 or so Region 1+ 2 teams that can't compete with Armwood. Just give us 3 teams that can hold their own with Armwood - please.
It has been 3 years and based off the facts of the scores and records of Armwood over the last 3 years it proves nothing has really changed. It is not like it was a 1 year fluke for Armwood being so dominant. If 42-0 and outscoring your opponents by an average of 31 pts per game over 3 years does not expose a problem, I don't know what will.

Central would contend in 8A. Back in 2009 and 2010 when 6A was the highest class, Central made it to the semis in '09 and winning it all in '10. Enrollment in South Florida doesn't make that big of a difference. It's about talent. Look at BTW, a 4A school that could beat 80-90% of 5-8A teams in South Florida. Only teams that will give them a hard time are: AHP in 5A, Central in 6A, STA in 7A, Columbus, Flanagan, Deerfield Beach in 8A. And for you gentleman up north don't believe the Dillard hype...they're not that good. I wish Central had the enrollment to play in 8A. Central in 8A would be a legitimate contender year in and year out. It's interesting for sure.
Going off of that proposal, I personally would have left Carol City in 6A, but understand why you moved them to 7A.
Not sure if MIA Central should jump from 6A to 8A. Maybe. Maybe not. Again, I see the reasoning for it, just not completely sold on that particular portion of the proposal.

Why does have to be repping Armwood? He's just simply stating his opinion. For some reason Armwood pumps fear into 6A north teams before they even hit the field. So what makes VG and PF any different? One thing I'd noticed about you is you have this "I am always right" mentality and if anyone goes against what you say, you will go on and on for pages and pages of posts. Dude get over yourself! I will tell you just like I told a poster on DJ's board...This ain't ESPN and you ain’t getting paid for this! You ain't gotta be right all the time. You must rep armwood im guessing?
-
Fair enough.I'm high on their talent this year
I think a lot of people are overrating Mainland this year based on reputation. I'm expecting them to regress, their cupboard is the thinnest its been in years. They graduated 4 key pieces last year and their 2017, 18, and 19 classes aren't that special. Their only bona fide stud is Fagan
Carol City brings back a lot of talent, much more than Mainland. Losing buckshot hurts, but having Camron Davis in the backfield softens that loss. Armwood brings back virtually everybody and will have easily their most stacked team since their 15-0 2011 team, in addition they received a transfer D1 QB this offseason who is legit and probably the first real QB not just ATH Armwood has ever had.
I think Mainland is firmly #4 this year imho
-
Pretty good list. But before I put CC over Mainland they would to show me something more than a fluke 8-7 win over MC.overall state rank in parenthesis
6A
1. MC (2)
2. Armwood (6)
3. Carol City (7)
4. Mainland (9)
5. MNW (23)
6. Clearwater (25)
7. Vanguard
8. Dillard
9. Boyd Anderson
10. Miami Norland
Pine Forest

As far as large classes 5A is by far the weakest, with 7A a close second.
-
BTW or STA both can't start 3-0. They play the first regular season game of the season.STA
MC
Deerfield
AHP(Hopefully) Brutal schedule
BTW
The parity of 6A...
